is the patch available to download?

i keep trying to update the game but all it gives me is unable to complete version check has anybody been able to download the patch yet?

Heard that people have been having problems downloading the patch. Mine just finished patching though without a problem, just keep trying.

It's happening because everyone us trying to download the patch, I was able to shortly after it came up. Keep trying, if all else fails try later on this evening.

Can you actually play the game after dl'ing the patch? Or do they hold until the previously announced maintenance time expires completely?

Some people are just being impatient, there are thousands of people hitting the server trying to download the information. Try at an off hour, as we still can't play until tomorrow.

Mine downloaded too.

reinstalling the game worked for me

i downloaded the patch but my game keeps saying that they are still doing maintenance, when the hell are they going to be done?

If you're getting the unable to complete version check error, just restart the launcher. It worked for me.

run it with administator right! (work for me)

I didn't have any trouble for once, but then I also started the update within a couple minutes of the download going live.

This can be caused by the launcher itself not updating this is how I fixed it after realizing that was the problem.

go to Documents\My Games\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\ open up FFXIV_BOOT.cfg in word pad or notepad.

you should see this

<FINAL FANTASY XIV Boot Config File>

<Version>
Version 2
Language 1
Region 2
EulaAgreement 1
StartupCompleted 1
B4EulaAgreement 1
BootVersionCheckMode 0
ConfigReset 0

the line in bold is the key change the 0 to a 1 and it forces it to check version upon opening the launcher.

After doing this it updated launcher and the game fine.

I can confirm this works.had the same issue,tried Kekus fix ,loader updated immediatly and now im currently downloading the patch :)

i'll second this worked for me last patch when i couldn't get it to download myself
