Any mention of Philo conversion rates?

I scanned the full patch notes and didn't see any mention. Perhaps someone stumbled upon a higher up mentioning it recently? ^.^

Considering anything you pick up from 2.2 is better than all there is to 2.1, I'm not surprised if they made the conversion a bit generous.

Remember SE saying leviathan (Hard) would not actually be too hard cos it's in the storyline, and parties should be able to beat it in a few tries. If it does drop the new ilv95 weapons as people have suggested, then lolAllagan.

I can understand it being 1:1 and then again not being 1:1.

With 1:1 it lets people like myself with borderline ilvl 80 get a nice boost at release using slightly outdated (ever so slightly) gear.

But then again ilvl 90 is still very much competitive (I believe) so 1:1 may be too much.

Also veteran players may be irked that the time it took them to farm myth was wasted seeing how full myth gear can be farmed in a day or two now.

I personally think it'll be 1:1. They're completely replacing philo for myth (and myth for soldiery), so anywhere philo was dropping, myth will drop after the patch. It'll be nuts to see 200 myth from CT... lol

Wasn't it said in the live letter or something there would be a conversion rate? If that were the case then I argue there is no possible way it's 1:1 since it would just be a transfer to myth and wouldn't really be considered to have a conversion rate to it. It has to be 2:1 or more.

I doubt it will be 1:1....but just in case it was I made sure to cap on my phil yesterday.

if its not 1:1 then what will we do with the leftovers? i doubt they want a bunch of odd philo's floating around and people will moan endlessly even if they lose out on 1 tome

Ya not seeing it in the patch has me a bit worried.

If it isn't 1:1 then in patch 2.25 will probably remove any existing tomes that are left over.

I don't see why it can't be 1:1. Maxed philo pre patch will net you 2 of the more expensive pieces, a few accessories/smaller pieces.

It's not like capped philo will gear up an entire character and then some.


But like I said before, I can see why they would be hesitant to do 1:1, what with all the rage topics from the people who spent weeks/months farming their sets.

No, we're saying that because there was no mention of a conversion ratio, that we are just guessing it will be 1:1.

Here's my theory I posted in a different thread (just an educated guess)

"I really hope it's 1:1. Honestly, even with that ratio, you still can't buy that many Myth pieces. If you have 2,000 Philos (which I do), and you end up getting 2,000 Myth in exchange, that's really only one chest piece and one leg piece with 350 left over - not even enough for an accessory (and that's for one job)."

Yeah and if you capped myth beforehand you have enough for a 3rd piece and almost a 4th piece ^_^

Not exactly right. Most likely there is still going to be a 2000 mythology tombstone cap. A very good reason the not exchange them automatically would be so people wouldn't exceed the cap. The more I think about it the more I'm thinking it will be a 1:1 exchange rate.

If SE were really smart about this they would figure a way to give philosophy (in name) to people when they play DoM jobs, and physical to those that play DoW jobs (again, in name only).

450 weekly cap on each, would keep people playing and encourage those strictly magic users to branch out and visa versa with the strictly DoW people.

If its suppose to be this easy, what am I suppose to do with the DarkLight stuff I acquired for my BLM when it hits 50 lol, I figure the myth drop right will be higher but not as high as philo tomes

I'm just excited to be able to start upgrading more of my jobs to Myth gear.

Probably for vanity, collection purposes. It's like when people use the AK or whatever else (ilvl 55) stuff before they can get Darklight. It's meant to be a small boost before you have enough farm for the better stuff.

i can't speak for anyone else, but i don't care

i've been myth capping since week 2 of this game and i really want a 1:1 conversion so i can just finish buying a couple more pieces for the glamour system... if not i guess i can just farm something like turn 4 or haukke manor, it's not a big deal
