Before the New Content on next patch

We're having new content soon while we still havn't what we need the most, a change of the flag up function.
-Looking for party / Play solo
-Comments functions


Also, by introducing new dungeon, Final Fantasy XIV must add a way to loot/cast lot and random on item, actually our system is based mostly on luck and trust, we should have a "treasure pool" and the abilities to use some function like: (in bold,the most important)
- Cast Lot
- Pass
(Optional)
- Leader Treasure Pool (a special treasure pool that a leader can open and access using this option, once he get drop he can distribute to member with some ease, a good use of it is before an NM kill,this option only work if every member in the party are part of the same linkshell)

Also, the last usefull thing we missing, allow Linkshell function usable (even if players are far or near).
- Kick
- Invite
- Tell
- Send Message (as we can see them even logged off).
- Message that say: **** **** has logged on. (possible to filter).


I think, all of this thing are a need before any new content, giving us that, will allow players to finally find new camp, exp party (well there's already some but letting ppl seek while they are doing some stuff outside of town still better), enjoy more and more content (with dungeon in addition).

All of this has been spoken of by the devs and it's going to come when they have it planned. So regardless of what you or anyone thinks, the stuff that they have planned for 1.18 is going to come before the stuff they have planned for 1.19 -1.20 etc.

Hope we don't have to wait to long for the self flag option, I think its is one of the most important things that needs to be implemented.

Is there really that much trouble with the loot system? Doesnt it just essentially handle the lotting for an item beforehand and if you dont want it you can pass it out to others?
Seems to me, this system is no better/worse than any other.

Imagine you enter a dungeon with ppl you don't know, now imagine you loot the best body for Pugiliste and it fall on the conjurer sac, now imagine, the conjurer keep it, because it'll look badass on his conjurer (just the look). Ok it's a mechanic based on trust, but do you really believe everyone ? I don't honestly, especialy on a pick up group.

so is a lot system tho. It's just essentially handling the lot BEFORE placing it in the pool and not after. If you had to lot, there'd be nothing stopping the conjurer from doing so and potentially taking your gear all the same.
When grouping up to obtain items, it is always based on trust. You are playing an mmo, after all. If you dont trust them, get a new conjurer.

Have you ever played a MMO in instance/dungeon in group pick up? have you never ever heard a story about a thief in an MMO?
I'm ok, it is always based on trust, but a mean ppl, won't show how bad he is until the final fight (where the best loot is), and after all, you can't blame him because it fall on his pocket, you blame SE because of his treasure system.

But you can indeed blame him, because it isnt in his inventory yet. That's just it, if you can trust him to cast a lot, you can just as easily trust him to pass the item to the one who needs it.
Basically, whichever system you have, there is an equal chance someone is gonna rip you off. Those are the risks you take when partying with someone you dont know.
You're not seeing that there is, essentially, already a lot taking place. If it ends up in his treasure pool, it's because he won the lot. If he was suppose to get the drop, this system saved you about 5 seconds, if not, then the time it would take to cast a lot, he can use to pass it on to the proper recipient.... or rip you off.

Difference in lotting systems

In ffxi while it is true everyone can lot... standard procedure is for 1 leader/officer not to pass until everyone else except who it goes to passes... If a person refuses to pass and he is suppose to he gets kicked removing him from having the ability to lot (My ls members has 90secs to pass or they where kicked from the party on XI). By doing this you can make sure it goes to who deserves it. unless the leader is corrupt... nothing you can do there.

In FFXIV it autodrops to 1 person... there is no community lot pool just personal ones. So if it drops to a person who wants to steal it... there is no possible way to make him pass/give it to someone or prevent him from getting it.

FFXIV will lead people to having the ability to steal items easily. With the main issue being this: call a gm because so and so "Stold" uberswordofLeetness and getting a response like this... GM>>> It is not stealing the item dropped to him fair and square I am sorry there is nothing we can do. Actully it would be more scripted but yea same thing.

Somethings people complain about that are broken do work just not extremely well like the party invite system... The lotting system as it stands simply will not work at all at endgame, due there being no way to control drops. With the possibility of theft, it is guaranteed to happen over time.

It is practically guaranteed to happen, at some point, anyway.
However, you make a good point, tho one i dont necessarily agree with. I guess i fall into the "it isnt stealing because he was involved in the work to get the item" category. Yeah, it sucks that if you have a verbal agreement and he breaks that agreement, but again, that's where trust comes in.
I dont mind either system and im not gonna say that the old one sucks. (it works perfectly fine) But the way i see it, this system works perfectly fine as well. Unless of course you tend to be paranoid about someone 'stealing' your drop.

Dungeon runs should always be need before greed (ie, if the tanking shield of uberness drops, first dibs should be the tank, end of story). But the sad fact of the matter is that you can't always trust people. There definitely needs to be a better system in place to deter ninja looting. Boss drops auto-dropping into people's inventory creates the temptation for greed.

In a perfect world, people will hand it over to the party member who deserves it. But in a multi-class game where everyone can conceivably level up every class/job and try to justify holding onto items with the excuse that, "Well, my so-and-so can use it", I can see the potential for ninja looting running rampant if a proper system isn't put in place early on.
