New player looking for someone to play with, newbie friendly FC.

Hello :)

I am a female gamer who find herself after years of playing with the same group of people, alone in the mmorpg universe. I bought this game after reading the forums, watching "lets play" videos and coming to the conclusion that the community in all seems very friendly.
I tried joining one of those "We're friendly and love chatting" FC's, but it's big and there is a ton of people talking about things I don't understand.
Being as new to FFXIV as I am - I suppose I am either looking for a smaller community that don't mind taking me in and answer my newbie questions, or someone to play with.
My time zones are east coast, US and I'll play a good bit in the afternoons and tons on the weekend.
Willing to start on any server for the chance of making lasting friendships and have fun.

I would like to invite you over onto the Coeurl server. I'm an officer from the fusion swords fc which is a small tight knit group of mostly east coast and central time people. Although we are mostly 50's we are a pretty fun and helpful group. Just hit me up in game if you decide you'd like to join.

Malboro seems to be mostly US East. It is pretty busy until around 02:00 EST. Our FC Akatsuki's Pain, <<PAIN>> for short, seems to mostly play on your schedule also. Personally I am US West so I'm not on until later. We're mostly 50's at this point but we also love new players. A few of us were/plan to be teachers, so we can't help expressing that. :)

I'm in a VERY newbie friendly FC on the Faerie server. Of our 40 members only maybe 10 of them have lvl 50 characters and we're always looking for more people to play with. Up to you, though, just PM me if you're interested.

Hi :). My husband and I are new to FF14 but not new to MMO's. We will be playing on the PS4 and are excited to get started. We will be creating our toons tomorrow during the beta phase. We live on the east coast and we're thinking of joining a FC that would be understanding that we are new and might/will have questions. We are also looking for a FC that would be willing to help and advise us through our journey. We are not big on joining chat channels but will chat through typing. We are casual players and try to play as often as our child allows. At first we were thinking of just grouping together but then we thought that if there was a FC out there that would be willing to take us in and understand that we are new to the game then maybe we would do that instead. If it's possible to play the way we would like to play and be in a FC, is there one that can be recommended for us? Thank you so much for reading this and for all the help :).

We are friendly and laid back. Myself i will also be playing on PS4 when it comes out.
Beta was amazing so i have high hopes for it :)

Thank You very much :). Should we decide to join your FC, how do I contact you? PM/Tell you in game? Also, we pre ordered the game through SE but so far it hasn't shipped. I thought we would have early access but we haven't received a code either. Is it best to wait till we have the game in hand before contacting you or can we do it over the weekend during over the weekend while waiting for the game to arrive? One more thing, if I missed it I'm sorry but I can't seem to find the name of your FC for contact. Thanks again :)

You'd have to contact them through the game, so ... For the PS3 we just did a digital download from the PS store. Are you getting physical copies? Otherwise you may have the download available to you already.
And yes, use a /tell in game. You can also send an application directly to the FC if you see anyone in it.

We ordered the physical copies from the SE store. I was told that they "should" arrive in time for the release date but not sure if they will be here for the early access.

Hi again. I would maybe even suggest starting off on phase 2 of the PS4 beta that starts tomorrow. From what i gathered this beta will be on the live servers so you may create your character and play on Leviathan. (Phase 1 of beta was on Japan servers)
The beta will only be 3 days but should get you going for a few days at least instead of waiting for your copy.
You can for sure send me a tell in game as well we do have our own forum. Our Free Company is called Benevolence, we are part of 2 linkshells of the same name which is basically chat channels.

Playing it before getting the disk would require downloading it, and the Playstation Network is horribly slow. I got my PS4 recently and tried just downloading a 500 MB demo to check the system out, and the download took about 6 or 7 hours. Trying to download a full-size MMO would probably take a week. What's worse, the PS4 doesn't even allow pausing a download like the PS3 can, so that whole time you can't do anything else. Even if it comes late, waiting to get the disk would probably be faster.

Be polite?
The founders love Naruto and most of the rest of us like anime/manga and video games (of course) so expect some geeky discussion. Ages range from 18-42. We have a fb page for those who are comfortable joining it.
Most of the people are on the East Coast. Many of them work odd shift times. I'm West Coast, so I'm not on until later. We tend to be a bit disorganized and just see what whoever is logged on feels like doing or let people run on their own. We're generally of the type of "speak up if you want help".

We do not have any rules other then treat each other with respect and have fun is a must ;)
The chat channels are not a must but more of a form of help as there are several Free Companies together on the linkshell so if anyone ever needs for example Titan Hm there are always other members willing to help out as well. There is the option to simply use the Free company chat as myself i just use a keyboard as well

Thank You again :). I'm trying to make a character on Leviathan for about an hour now and it keeps telling my new charaters cannot be made on this world at this time :(. I'm going to keep trying and hopefully I'll get on. If not then I'm going to have to go to a different server.

Sorry to hear Splinter. Perhaps this is the cause of the issue?

I saw that this morning when I tried to log in and downloaded the beta again. I keep refreshing the worlds but no good. Maybe I'll have better luch when the game goes live :)

Check the first link. It looks like there are a lot of new players coming on for the ps4 beta so some of the worlds are restricting new characters again. Leviathan looks to be one of them. Malboro is open though. ;)
The list gets updated every 4-5 hours, so just try checking it again in a few. It's also available as the top link in the launcher.

Thanks. Been checking that link and decided not to wait any longer. I made my character on Malboro and my husband is in the process of creating his now :).

Hi Jaydee. I think we (Benevolence FC) have some relatively new members with us since ps4. I've been playing little over a month now too. Thing with FFXIV is that it is very new player friendly and not that hardcore atm, compared to other mmos. Also our server 'Leviathan' has alot of friendly, good people to play with, even if you are new, And veterans also lvl up new class/jobs so you can have fun as much as you'd like with all of us ^o^
