Unattractive System Messages

Lavender. It's dull, unappealing and doesn't excite me one bit about the spike damage I've just dealt or the awesome item I just received. I'm going to cite FFXI in regard to this, because the standard bright green on yellow text just got me excited about even the most common of treasures:

You find a beastman's seal on the wild rabbit.
You find a beastman's seal on the wild rabbit.

Now, can anyone see what I'm talking about? No jokes about the stark yellow text on the light background, please! :P

What has been seen cannot be unseen. You know what? This didn't even bother me until I just read your post. I just wish this game had the small attention to detail like XI was given. Something this small really bothers me now haha.

Aaaaaargh eyecancer! Damn you! Now I can never look at the chat window again without my eyes starting to bleed (x_x).
But you are right. Sometimes it's really hard to follow the log 'cause of the lack of emphasis.

Things that bothered me (not related to text color, but that's a good point):

Logging in and seeing: "Welcome to Eorzea! Welcome to Wutai!" A little repetitive.

That and the whole "You find blahblahblah." "You obtain blahblahblah." But I understand the purpose behind them both...

Oh well.

In regards to the OP, I guess I have to agree. It's harder than it could (should?) be to see what dropped.

Wow yeah, I was doing some nm camps the other day and it took my eyes a bit more to pick out the drops in the log. I already filter most things from chat, but item drops just don't stand out from everything else.

Yeah, I've definitely complained about the same thing before. I really wish they would add simple stuff like this.

While I like the lavender better than the yellow/gold color found in FFXI, I would like to see them make item names a different color to make them more noticeable.

Louis C.K. has a a routine about how we complain about the stupidest crap. This might fall under that category. You can change your text color, I get it you want them to vary it up a lil bit, with how beastman coin/ seal would be a different color and it would stand out. But the hardware update just caused lag for a lot of us, and the games in a over glorified beta, this is really one of those things we just shouldn't even mention before they get clusterf*cked and explode. haha.
