Job-Specific Mount Dream List

Lets see, so far we've got:

• WHM ~ Unicorn

What else would you guys like to see?

Some ideas I have:

• MNK ~ Flying Cloud
• BLM ~ Asclepius-type Snake
• DRG ~ Wyvern
• SMN ~ Marbol
• SCH ~ Tonberry

A tank mount. Not a mount for tanks, but a literal tank.

What about Bards? I notice when everyone mentions something nice they like to see added to classes they always forget to mention Bards! >.<

I think a direfox would fit a bard.

I already like the unicorn for summoner as well, but I'm still thinking about other possible options.

Honestly, I'd prefer Monk to get a Coeurl mount. SE has already provided plenty of precedent for simply 'recoloring' mounts and then re-releasing them, like how we've got two Chocobo mounts, two Goobbue mounts, two Magitek Armor mounts, two Unicorn mounts, and now we're about to get FOUR Horse mounts, I don't see why we couldn't have a second Coeurl mount for Monk.

I don't see Dragoon getting a Wyvern mount with their current lore, and honestly I'd prefer it if Summoner got something like Fenrir as their class mount. Tonberry mount for Scholars could be interesting, but I can't think of a suggestion for either Black Mage or Bard, but I definitely don't see Black Mages riding a snake. Maybe another Ahriman?

Anyway, that's just my two cents on this matter.

Replace the summoner mount you suggested with Fenrir.

Dismounting animation is you suplexing the train.

I think they should bring back Carby from Arcanists (since after getting the jobs no one ever uses him anymore). Summoner should be able to ride a giant summoned Carby! Tonberry stalker would definitely fit well for SCH given the lore.

Wyvern for DRG would be awesome.

How about a bat for BLM?

Wyvern for drg would be cool but I dont think it fits, unless there was a special mini story to get it where its like you raise or befriend it or something.

Tonberry for Sch seems.....really weird. Maybe to some it suits but to me its like..you're riding your teacher (kinda, cant think of a better way to compare the tonberries relationship to sch)

Smn I think should get something that's typically a summon in other games, but not going to be in this game. Or a more detailed egi, make it look more similar to the actual primals.

Bard I think could work with some kind of fox, I'd love that.

We should all start playing WHM, WAR and PLD only so that people complain how there's not enough dps/SCH which will prompt the devs to give special mounts to other classes too. What?! It worked in the past!

I am a bard and I see some suggestions for a fox type mount. Therefore…. I vote Foxclon.

Well since the unicorn is a cnj mount could assume the lion and bear are maurder and gladiator mounts hard to say what the others would get esp acn

Was it discussed how the tanks acquire the bear and lion looking mounts, haven't seen anything on that?

To this extent it doesn't sound like something you'll obtain from a two minute quest and that there may be some long-term commitment involved. Also I don't see any new level 50 quests in the patch notes that refer to anything related to a "bear" or "lion" or any quests that are "Tank Only." Therefore, my guess is that these mounts will come from an Achievement reward that involves a lot of time investment.

There was nothing in the patch notes because Yoshi more or less said those mounts were 2.3 content.

First of all, not once did he say anything about the mounts being in "2.3." Second, all of the game play footage he shows during "Live Letters" isn't shown during patch notes. During this "2.2 Live Letter" he showed off all the new mounts coming in 2.2. He had all of them on his in-game 2.2 hot bar. He rode around on his bomb chair, sahagin lizard, giant bear, and white lion. I have no idea where you got 2.3 from.

Something people seem to forget: if we continue in the vein of the Unicorn, the mounts are for Classes, not Jobs. It is incidental that we can learn our Job at the same level we can acquire the class-mount.
Therefor, DRG Lore is irrelevant because it would be a LNC mount. Same with an ACN mount (also it would be one mount, not two).

As much as I want a dragon-type mount for my Dragoon... Lancers have nothing to do with dragons. Rather, their mount would probably be something related to being courageous, calm and unshakable.

funny I just talked to a friend about how it's be cool to have a Tonbery mount as a SCH! give us our tonbery already SE!

Here's my dream list:

Arcanist - Fenrir (He's a giant wolf summon from previous FF games. And seeing as Arcanists have 2 jobs, but Carbuncle in previous FF games was also a summon, but in this game, is an aether summon, I can see Fenrir being similar.)

Black Mage - Phoenix (Seeing as Black Mages really specialize in fire magic, I think a phoenix that runs like a chocobo would be quite fitting)

Dragoon - Antelope (Reasoning is that Dragoons start out as Lancers from the twelves woods. So Antelopes would be great for them)

Bard - Diremite (Also from the Black Shroud, the ones without the stinger tails. Those could make interesting mounts)

Monk - Aldgoat (Why not? Lots of them in Eastern Thanalan.)
