Travelling to Limsa are not enjoyable

I open this with few questions:

1. Are there actually a way to travel to Limsa freely forth and back? Even free teleport service only works 1 way. Boat ride used to be free in 1.0, but now they charged us. We could travel freely between Thanalan - Shroud - Coerthas - Mor Dhona. So why La Noscea being left out?

2. Speaking of boat ride, why the heck we can't enjoy the view while riding these like in 1.0 or XI? If people are in a hurry, they could just teleport. Boat ride are supposed to be enjoyable. Felt like being cheap knockout, paying the service only to have skipped the whole ride. I miss the sea view on boat ride.

I agree about the boat thing, i would like a boat ride, and airship ride, even if it means waiting for it to arrive like in xi

and for those who don't like it, they can ride the boat and complain, since people enjoy complaining, so they will be happy too

and no to the first question, they are on island.

or they can keep it the same and you can keep complaining since you love to complain so you're happy too :D

No 1 question was no complain, just general wonderment. As for La Noscea being an island, that wasn't entirely true, especially for people who has played and passed bahamut coil turn 5.

As for no 2, yeah... that is a complain. Why do we pay for skipping event? If I pay, I expect to enjoy the ride, maybe even have extras on it, like special mob/nm pops, like what we have in XI.

Really now? I've been here since 1.0 and seen how this loop goes. If they stop talking about it it doesn't exist. I'd love to see actual boat rides too but at this point they can't put it in anymore as there would be too much bitching and moaning from those who don't like to log into a game for more than 5 minutes because "they don't have time for games".

As much as the FFXIV1.0 boat ride gave a sense of distance between Limsa's port to Vesper Bay, it didn't have anything particularly special on the ride itself.
You could craft on the boat, and fish I think, but there wasn't anything exclusive on the boat,... unless if you consider talking to a few NPCs as being worthy content.

Even with the instant travel for ferry and airship, the transition cutscene becomes a nuisance for some people, which is why there's the option to auto-skip cutscenes.

Point being, is they would have to design something for the ride, not just to have the ride for the sake of having it.
Though, it doesn't seem like it's coming anytime soon.

Just the general sense of exploration feels dead to me in this game.

The only thing I can compare this game to is FFXI, since that's the only other MMO that I've played extensively. This game doesn't have nearly the scope that FFXI had, but it's still young. Maybe that'll change.

Does XI has boat ride in their early years as enjoyment or extra activities on it? Cause if that's true, then it's kinda sad that ARR didn't have this.

I don't wanna skip it. Just enjoying the view alone are good reasons enough. Why they have to take it away?

During Beta we learned that the Ferries were going to be instant travel. There was a thread with a large amount of Likes with the subject that since Teleport is instant and the main source of travel, why not make it so the airship and ferry rides are in real time and can enjoy the landscapes, craft, whatever...a lot of it came to people wanting to have fights/events on the Airship lol. Anyways the Devs responded one time and basically said no, this was the last time I've seen the subject discussed. I don't really see them changing it as I don't think they view it as a high, medium or even low priority. Maybe with all these Open World Content threads we could at least get the Ferry back to what it was.
