RMT spammers out of control

Seriously I don't know what's happened but for the last week I'm getting 2/3 tells every minute, I can't BL cos my list is full (200 reported spammers all accounts still active)

We either need more spots on BL or quicker responses to reports

I'm on mateus is any1 else experiencing this?

Not to sound sassy but, how do you know all those accounts are still active? It has been said before that most accounts get banned and the names won't appear as (Deleted) unless the owner himself deletes the character. Within a week you should be able to remove them from your Blacklist. With that saaaaaid! Yes, I am also seeing far more RMT tells than the past couple of months.

I honestly didn't know that ill delete a load tonight... Wish I could mark them and delete all in one go instead of one at a time though

It's tax season... RMT's are trying to get into our pocket books like everyone else....

I wonder how much this varies on a server by server basis - while I always have "Yell / Shout" chat turned off, and so can't be of use in regards to if they are up to that on Ragnarok, I've not been sent a single whisper about Gil in probably two or three weeks. Either that or I've accidentally unchecked the Tell box from the chat messages I receive. My blacklist is clear as well, so the folk haven't been blocked, and last few times I did see one I remember it being hacked accounts.

Hopefully they are able to get it under control on your server - make sure to give anyone buying the damn stuff a slap across the back of the head, as it is hugely detrimental to the overall community, and essentially enabling these scum bags to operate.

That's the thing, we shouldn't even be Black listing these guys or even having to delete 200 RMT from black list, its a extra chore and even black listing them over and over every single day one after another.

We pay 9-16 dollars a month, we log in have to deal with spam black listing all day when it we shouldn't have to at all, in final fantasy 11 if someone spammed the zone GM would take care of it. They made a even bigger effort to silence them with the filter in which muted most of them and I hardly got a peep from one but here, I get one tell after black listed, another after second is black listed then silence then 1 minute later another and another.

I deleted 200 already already added 50 in one day. I think they should use final fantasy XI spam filter in 14 so we don't have to see it anymore.

They do have filters, bleh I wish I could find the post where Yoshi explained the measures they're taking to try to stop most if not all of them, and they are constantly getting rid of RMTs. I know that this is no excuse, but it seems that there's an overwhelming amount that just keeps growing. Every now and then they show a public report showing the amount of the banned accounts due to RMT or "suspicious activity" as they like to call it. They are doing what they can, but yeah, they could be doing better I guess. It does indeed get annoying.

Seriously. Could you imagine doing an extreme mode and your box is suddenly getting spammed with multiple RMTs?

I just wanted to say that I, too, noticed an abnormally large number of RMT tells today. Normally I just blacklist and if I'm not too involved in what I'm doing (which is pretty frequently) I send a report, but today I was really trying to focus on leveling one of my crafting classes in preparation for 2.2 and it was just getting ridiculous, like 2 or 3 in a 5 minute span. I don't know if it's possible but a feature on chat that would allow you to give a reason for the blacklist would be helpful i.e "Blacklist 'Player Name'?" -> "Yes or No" -> "Reason for blacklist?" -> "RMT, Harassment, etc..."

Edit: Meant to include that I play on Gilgamesh so whatever the reason for the increase, it wasn't server specific.

Wat is like to see is a "report player" when you select their name
It would automatically do time date server etc all you'd need to do is select the reason
It would make reporting easier and less time consuming, more people would do it thus quicker action could be taken

^This, I would very much like to see this implemented. I would report so many more if this was in place.

I too would like to see something like that implemented. Report them, and then block all tells from them without clogging up your blacklist. I get flooded every day as well, from at least 4 different companies. They fire off tells every few seconds, sometimes. I blacklist at least 10 people a day, on Sargatanas.

Problem is most of these RMT's are hacked accounts... People use generic passwords (password, 12345678, redfred1, qwert123, ect...) and they system scan names with passwords and pirate them... However it is a good idea for reports so SE can look a little deeper into it...

lol no. "out of controll" was what was going on at launch...where they would spamm the shout channel so fast you couldnt read anything (even with the chat box expanded) till you blacklisted them O,.,O

What I dont understand is why they dont just write a GM bot and sit an automated character on every server and when they hit that character boom its gone. its not hard lets face it bots for this game already exist so if someone who doesnt even have the source code can write one I am sure the programmers at SE who know the code can do something this simple.
