PSA: Don't toss your old darklight gear

You can equip your retainer in your old gear and have them farm items. Certain avg ilvl is needed for retainers to get certain items. Saw this in the preview.

Sweet putting my Retainer in a full Allagan set. gg.

I don't want even my retainer looking like a coffin. Can I glamour it to snowman?

I'm sure we need to level up the retainer to 50 first before he can wear DL.

People threw out their DL gear?

Yeah, from the video it seems like you have to use a new sort of currency (no idea what it is, some sort of silver coin) to pay your retainer to fetch items from either gathering or hunting mobs. He/She will then gain exp from that and gradually level up allowing you to gather/hunt higher level stuff.

Giving anyone tank DL should be considered a war crime. It's so ugly.

I discarded the dl gear I had when I got the CT counter parts except for the jewelry.

I did the moment I hit i90 on my sch. It was so ugly that I couldn't stand keeping it. Hahaha XD

Now I'm glad I hoarded that stuff and left it all on my retainers instead of tossing it.

Oh finally i can make use of my CT Vanity Sets.. xD

crazy that people throw this stuff away. what if they decide to make it convertible? there goes a ton of possible grade V materia (when that gets implemented). even if you can't convert it, I'm almost positive that DL won't just be trash in the future.

Now the big question...what class will my retainers be?

Hmm, when I saw it I immediately thought it was going to be some kind of allowance system like our levequests work. On the video he went to farm Apkallu Eggs and it showed that it would take 1 of those (tokens) and an hour of time. You may be right about the currency, but my bets are on some kind of allowance system :)

I took me MONTHS to get the Darklight set before they changed the Tomes amount per dungeon, there's no freaking way I will be tossing the gears. In my will, I will have people print the gear out in paper form, cut the silhouette and buried my body with it.

I hoard everything.
Also, I don't think DL is ugly, I think it just lost some of its appeal when that was all we had to wear! Hopefully it'll regain some of that as time passes.

Given that it becomes obsolete, looks like crap, and takes up precious space? Damn right I did.

Yea... this isn't something to worry about.

There has yet to be any proof that gear for retainers will function in any manner other than cosmetically. Hell from what they showed in the trailer it is almost certain that it will be nothing but cosmetic considering how the mob-farming based venture looks to offer static rewards that only require the retainer to have reached high enough of a physical level to unlock them. If there were any ilvl based system here you would be looking at a variable reward system where the better geared your retainer the more they can gather in a given time, but if that system exists it hasn't been shown yet.

Too late, already tossed it...

Guess I'll put them in CT gear instead :P

Man.... I took my darklight body...

And threw it on the grooooooooouuuuund. I threw the rest of the set too. It wasn't part of my system.
