Doing end-game is pointless really because of the kind of progression route you guys decided to follow, would be nice to get something new to level or atleast some info about when its coming

As long as we don't get news about 1st expansion, we'll never hear about new job.
With the new expansion and not earlier most likely.
To answer the OP question:
the moment Yoshida bring them ingame
If i see one more person say endgame is pointless due to vertical progression i'm going to gouge my own eyes out ; ; play the game for the fun/experience of boss kills not for gear lol, that and if you get the best gear on a per patch basis you will be ahead of the curve for the next lot of content
So your solution to 'end game is boring' is 'add 3 days of leveling before that job reaches endgame' as opposed to suggesting fixes for said boring endgame? Okay.
Then your job should pay you in Zimbabwe dollars rather than USD/Euro's/Whatever right? As you work for the satisfaction of a hard days work and a love for repetitive tasks, not money, right?
Loot is supposed to be the big pay day at the end, the carrot that leads you on. It is certainly very important to enjoy the trip, but when you find out all your carrots have turned to ash, you feel a bit let down.
Maybe to you, not to everyone. To many gear is a MEANS TO AN END not the end itself, so 'vertical progression' when that means endless and tedious grinding of phat lewt for its own sake IS NOT FUN.
You derisive comments about currencies seems to clearly show your mindset.
Leveling at least something that "hold" me in game while i wait party or something , now no leveling for me cuz all 50's T.T so yes pls at least 1 new job DoW / Craft w/e ;(
Sure, as long as I get paid the piddling amount of money I need for personal food and utilities, I would much rather have a job that is personally satisfying. I love doing what I do, and would not trade it for a moment for a high-payed and probably stressful job I don't like.
On topic, way back when, Yoshi-P claimed they were going to try to push out extra jobs and classes in patches to keep old legacy players happy. More recently though, they have backtracked on that a bit and said "in the expansion". I tried to track down the quote where he said that, but I couldn't find it. He could have misspoke, but honestly at this point there's no way to tell until the patch notes come out; for 2.2 and 2.3, maybe even 2.4.
Yoshida, STATED that there will be a NEW CLASS before the expansion.
As it has already been said over and over and over again...and it really seems you didn't give it an honest shot in a search engine, I will go ahead and let you either believe me, or not.
That goes for anyone else too that would rather I have a citation right here, instead of going to look it up yourselves.
Having said that end game is not pointless, and I can't wait for the new class/jobs to be announced (BEFORE THE NEXT EXPANSION WHICH IS DUE, give or take, ONE YEAR AFTER INITIAL RELEASE).
He also stated ARR would be out by January of 2013 which he admitted was delayed.
He also said 2.1 was supposed to be out Oct/Nov, which he later admitted was delayed.
He also said a lot of issues in 1.23 would be fixed and not completely thrown out - I mean heck, we had to wait for features that existed in 1.23 but somehow didn't exist in ARR.
YoshiP states a lot of things, he later stated it would be the first expansion which is likely to be fall/winter of this year as we should hear info in summer when the chinese version launches.
My carrop is roleplaying, decorating the house I plan to get when personal housing comes out, playing with the chocobo farm, collecting the minions. It just so happens I was lucky enough to be in a FC that raids, so my i86 whm gets some shiny gears every so often too. However, with lockouts and extremely rare droprate for whm gear, loot could never be my carrop. I would be raging like all the others then.
OH, and putting cute hairstyles on my character. I like dressing her up like my own digital barbie doll since being 23 and playing with a barbie isn't quite cool anymore. But I do like playing online with everyone elses Ken and Barbies! lol
Edit: Or instead of Ken, GI. Joe... I know some of you guys. =p
I don't think this is any point in asking SE now since they have a set plan for certain class/job release.
We know new class/jobs will be released through both Major Updates and Expansions but when is kept secret until near release time.
while
Some new class/jobs are already planned but won't be released until a certainly place has been released such as Gunblade class/Job (despite having countless Gunblade class NPCs, such as the Garlean Gunblade Soldiers and Gaius, in the game already) requiring access to the Garlean Empire in the game because the Gunblade Guild is in the Garlean Empire which most likely won't happen until 2nd expansion unless they plan to release Garlean Empire in 1st expansion due to the plan for 1 expansion every 2 years.
New jobs/classes are being added in patches, according to Yoshi-P.
NOT in expansions.
However with 3-4 months behind schedule, this plan may have unfortunately change, we might even find out on March 21st.
A level cap increase will come with the expansion apparently, along with the new race.
He also stated:
"If I were to add a leviathan egi to summoner I would have to add a new skill to every class, so it would be better to wait for level cap increase/expansion pack."
So, if you use common logic, adding a new class and/or job = at least 15 new skills, which means new skills would have to be added to every other class in order to keep "the balance" - so at this point we know it's expansion when we'll see them. He's said a lot of things that changed by now.
I mean hell, those of us who played XI have no problems with it being expansion material, but XIV does have a serious lack of content and odd design decisions that makes it harder to wait.
Yoshi-P said that they wanted to add a new class and jobs through patches before the first expansion, but his most recent statement comes from an unofficial translation where he said the expansion would have 1 new class/job. Something might have been lost in translation, but to me it seems like we shouldn't expect new classes/jobs before the expansion. Sadly.
Actually, if you use real common logic, adding a new class/job would mean that said new class/job would have the same number of abilities as the current classes/jobs. It certainly doesn't mean that adding a new class would require giving all the other classes new abilities.
FFXIV has a lot more endgame content than FFXI had at the same point of its life. The difference is that it takes a lot less time to get gear here, which is not necessarily bad or good, just different. When I started playing FFXI, the only endgame it had was camping kings, dynamis and sky.
The Quote was not about new classes/jobs but adding new skills into current class/jobs when they finally increase level cap beyond level 50.
When a new class/job is added it will not mean current class/jobs will be given new skills.
If they do release a new class/job before 1st expansion it will be limited to having skills up to lvl 50 like all current class/jobs until the 1st expansion when it increase the level cap beyond lvl 50 for new skills to current class/jobs.
You get this number from where exactly? They are at worst 1 month behind due to the technical difficulties at launch, and CT was released in 2.1 instead of launch due to balance reasons. Otherwise everything has been on time when promised. So I see one of two options here. You've lumped the whole game into the CT category and you just wish to blindly believe the entire game is 4 months behind, or your just flat out misinformed in your entirety. The game is at most 1 month behind.
