I kinda wish Bards had a different limit break.

Sure, the healing thing has its niche uses and could potentially save a wipe (if you don't get caught in a plume or something that is), but I wish it had something else.

And since Muskateer is most likely coming soonish, having a person with a gun have a heal lb is weird. It makes sense a little with bard, but...

Anyway, just my random thought of the day.

BRD needs restyling totally: it could be like FFXI (buffer) with an LB like to increase buff potency and duration and a completely new job, ranger, ranged dps with bow and gun. We also hardly need a THF/Assassin job.

I was thinking the same thing. Archer needs to stem off into a ranger, and relegate bard to more of a support role and let ranger dps. Transfer the attack moves bard learns to ranger and give it more songs or something.

Bards generally are buffers in most games they're in. Not sure why they went the dps/healer/tank route here. Especially sense the Final Fantasy jobs are historically more varied than that.

My dream for BRD is for them to be able to play different instruments with each instrument giving them access to different songs.

But that probably won't happen since SE seems to think new/casual = dumb, so have to keep everything as linear as possible.

They should have had an LB that would buff the party, perhaps with all their songs up for like 2 mins or something + new ones.
I.e
- have higher mp regeneration
- dps power increased
- movement up
- higher dodge rate
* not defence because tanks lb covers that
- faster hp regeneration?
Because as a healer, having 2 bards in a 4 man party is really dumb sometimes as the LB will only have to options. Tank or healer LB? But if the healer is doing their job then there should be no reason to use lb. None of the bosses really have moments like ultima hm orbs* .
Such potential wasted.

They just need to add more Limit Breaks. Right now we have four, each with three tiers. Change that to eight, with a potent enfeeble, buff, etc, and give each Job two options, then you can make the system much better.

Right now we have;
Tank: Def buff.
Healer: AoE Cure/Raise.
DPS: Close ranged attack.
Mage: AoE attack.

Add to that;
Tank: High potency enfeeble (super flash/etc.).
Healer: Light Arrow ranged attack (@Lv3 it can resemble something similar to Alexanders finish on Bahamut).
DPS: Massive DPS stats boost.
Mage: Crowd Control related (putting down a large snare that binds enemies?).

Now, you give Jobs two Limit Breaks based on their role. Archer (and later Ranger), for example, could have the new Healer and Mage Limit Breaks, while Bard (it is a support Job) could go with the new DPS and Tank Limit Breaks. Paladin could have the current Tank Limit Break and current Healer Limit Break. Warrior isn't so much about defense, so give it the current DPS Limit Break and the new DPS Limit Break. White Mage gets both Healer Limit Breaks, Scholar gets the current Healer Limit Break and the new Mage Limit Break. etc. etc.

Uses healing LB, doesn't even have a single healing spell.

Their LB should provide insane Skill Speed/Spell Speed for a short duration... along with a slight mana/tp regen.
