Issue Regarding Substantially Low FPS

Hello, I would like to ask if you have any suggestions/tips regarding my problems with FPS. I have updated my driver and have graphics settings on their lowest values, yet my FPS is still 5-7... As you can imagine, this severely alters my play experience and is quite frustrating... If you know anything I can do to help boost my FPS, I'd be much appreciative!

After checking the file for any personal information (generally there isn't any, but it will include account names, computer name, etc.) and removing such, paste the contents of the file you create in this thread.

Sounds like Intel Graphics... Game calls for a more dedicated graphics solution. If you have a two graphics card options (like nVidia Optimus design), make sure you are running on the graphics card and not Intel.

To be honest, I'm not really savvy with such things, so I'm not quite sure what all this tells me.

I had the exact same fps a while ago.. It is very frustrating to play that way >.<
However my computer was really old..so not much I could do to solve the problem >.>
Ended up buying a new one.. But was so worth it.
If your computers old (like 5 years or so like mine was..) I'd suggest buying a new computer or graphics card if it works with your current set up.

Edit: oh I have seen that laptop. The graphics card is a base model... Not really ment to handle gaming. :<

Thank you for the info AzraelBloodborne, unfortunately there's not much you will able to do. Your graphics card falls a little over 40% short of FFXIV's minimum requirements. You'll need to upgrade to a more gaming-oriented system for smooth gameplay.

I have a worse GPU and get normal fps over 25, it's that processor.

I think I may simply purchase a new Laptop... Is there one which is oriented for gaming and costs $600 or less...?

YIKES!! 626 Passmark score. Yeah... that CPU scores a little low on the benchmarks. Looks like you will need a new laptop. Prices are coming down though. Should be able to find a good deal now.

If you can get at them in a store to compare them side-by-side, try to get access to the Windows Experience Index. You'll want to find something that scores at least a 7 in each test for CPU, Memory, and 3D Graphics. The scores are no longer accessible on the System Properties page in Win 8.1, but can get to them on a Win7/Win8.0 machine by going to System in Control Panel (or right-click Computer, and select Properties), and then clicking the hyperlink for "Windows Experience Index" next to the aggregate score.

For a Win8.1 box, the scores are in XML files nested in this path:

C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore

They will likely be just a string of text if you open them in a text editor. Right-click them and "Open with" a web browser (may have to click to choose default program, just clear the check box so it doesn't actually set the browser as default, but will add it to the list for Open With). In a browser it will be organized like an HTML file and the scores will be in a section about Metrics (<Memory Metrics>). Each score will have it's own XML file with a date stamp. If none are present, you can create a set by running the benchmark from an elevated CMD prompt:

Not sure I'd trust it too much... there's likely some stronger options out there around that price point. What you are looking at is something more for casual gaming... may want to shoot for something with a little more horsepower for handling more advanced graphics. Key features to watch for are an AMD or nVidia GPU and dedicated GDDR memory for graphics. Not shared memory--that uses your main system memory. If it has it, it will specifically state that it has GDDR3 or GDDR5 memory, and usually a lot of it (not just the 128MB mentioned on this one). Aside from the obvious benefit of not stealing main memory for graphics, GDDR is also far better optimized specifically for graphics card use so it is much faster.

For instance, look at a Lenovo (IBM) they have there (pricier, but it was easy to spot right there on the same page I was on):
