Are there actually timers for when fates like Behemoth and Odin will pop up or

is it frustratingly random, on something ridiculous like a 36-48 hour timer? I'd really like to experience all of the end-game content FFXIV has to offer but not if they take the same dumbass approach they did with HNMs in FFXI. I'm not sitting around in Coerthas for a day just for a chance at experiencing a boss fight.

all i know he appear once every 3 days

once he appear and killed give him 72 hours

and once 72 hours passed since his last appearance he will appear within 24 hours after the 3 days cooldown passed

thats for odin not sure about behemoth

I saw Odin pop twice within 2 days.

then they didnt kill it from the last pop

if they didnt kill it there will be no 3 days cooldown

I'm very positive, I was there for both kills. I got bronze and gold.

odin appear once every 72 - 96 hours after the last pop if killed in it

Why did they do it in this fashion?

I've been playing for 2 months and i have yet to see both of them. I also got this feeling that i'll never see their faces, wish i could just fight them in a duty.

I have played since 2.0 day 1.

I've seen odin only twice (both bronze. one because I was late on the party, the second because he poped on me and the time I could come back he was casting zantetsuken..), and behemoth twice as well (bronze because that was in 2.05 and he was flashing in and out so I just got 2 combos on his head and gold like 1 month ago.

However, my world boss LS have timed their appearances, and it seems the respawn in 48 hours, then the spawn happens within a time frame of 24-36 hours. If killed, the timer restars. If Zantetsuken'ed, the timer restarts. If untouched or heavily failed (empty timeframe), he respawns with a 24 hours CD.

for behe, remove the zantetsuken part. I don't know if he has an enrage but never seen anyone who had witnessed it. That beast is melting like hell nowadays

You can fight them often if you make an effort to track them and network. I have an LS that I know will say 'Odin' or 'Behemoth' when they are up and in my own FC we use the Announcements board for our own simple timers

eg. Odin - 9:30pm 9/3 Behe - 12pm 7/3 - Then anyone in the FC updates it as needed

Just a little thing and you can find them much easier ^_^

Tips for those of you not used to fighting them:
-Get in a party of 8 asap
-Save your limit break for when Odin begins Zantestuken (Melee if you can, if not then use Caster)
-Unless you have a couple of healers in your party (and even then....) set your HP to the area before engaging.
-If you die it will be rare you will get an out of party raise; mostly because its very hard to locate your Behemoth trampled corpse.
-Behemoth will spawn in 2 FATEs actually - the first one (Behold Now Behemoth) an then the real one (He taketh it with his Eyes) located in Behemoths domain. Only the second FATE will grant you his Horns as reward.

Behemoth enrage is the meteor at the last %, it usually strong enough to wipe out weak gear player and can cause the fate to fail back in those day

to the OP above who ask why they do it the old fashion way : the reason is to make the time shift so Eu and US or eastern player can get the chance to kill them

note: I bold the time because it is accurate
