Agreed ^
Only Titan allows you to fall and jump off anything that will cause 100% death
I think we should make a compilation of all the invisible walls that are in the way.
Maybe that'll help devs to wake up and get rid of them.
Seriously, these invisible walls are a plague in the game. I've been saying it since the beginning, but it keeps falling in deaf ears. <sigh>
It really removes the sense of danger, I can imagine so many time sin WoW I was on ledges and making jokes and I pressed the wrong direction because I rotated my camera and forgot and walked right off a ledge into lava. lol
Good times
just so you know
Suicide rate in JPN is higher then your country.
This game is made by JPN devs
p/s : i too do not like invisible wall but im not daft enough for such a thing when i know the country it self has a high rate of suicide.
Rather than the suicide thing .. cause that just sounds stupid. Its more likely due to the fact they haven't unlocked all the areas yet. some places. like the castrum in East Shroud would be semi accessible if you can just jump off an thing. and it would also lead to a lot of people being stuck in places.
Have to remember it was once 1 huge map.
Yah most of the invisible walls likely exist not to keep you from jumping off high places but keep you from glitching and accessing areas of the map that aren't playable. The Castrum in Shroud is a good example. There probably isn't even any collision detection over there so you'd probably fall endlessly through the ground lol
In the beta, I found a couple game breaking glitches by attempting to clip through areas. Central shroud has a cave (I think by the velociraptor camp), and if you jumped on a specific rock, you could fall through the map. Simply put, most inaccessible spots aren't complete, and will create texture problems/clipping errors. While I agree there are spots that shouldn't have walls, this is an easy way for developers to keep players from accessing glitches.
You'll be hard pressed to find any Invisible Walls that prevents you from playing the game normally.
What removed the sense of danger was them taking depth out of monsters and making them actually a challenge if you wander too far off the beaten path.
They should just add into the lore a reason we can't swim. Maybe the water becomes cursed and a magical beast swallows up anybody bold enough to enter it. In the game, this means we drown in deep water and get a few seconds of warning before we die as we go from shallow to deep end.
But yeah, the amount of invisible walls gets annoying. Even the collision on objects can get in the way...especially in the Amalj'aa hideout by Little Ala Mhigo; the collision between the objects and walls can be a bit annoying when trying to sneak around enemies.
The walls are there to protect people who are fishing, since sometimes you practically have to be bumping into the wall at a cliff's edge to be in a position to fish.
PS No, I don't like invisible walls. Or picky positioning on fishing.
Edit: The really annoying walls are those that prevent a fairly short drop that wouldn't do much damage but would be a useful shortcut.
I support this ..i want to go farther in the water at the beach but i cant -.-
