Give us something that makes us say "Hell yeah" when playing our jobs.

Like in FF11. Whenever you played your job you always had 1 ability or spell or two that made you say "Hell yeah... I'm a Ranger" And with the right gear and dedication we were able to enhance those abilities 2-10 fold showing off our EPEEN and dedication. It makes you feel geeeeewwd. We also can't forget the Artifact Gear that really made us feel like we were of significance. It made us feel that we were a SAM or a RDM or a PLD.

Ranger: Fck yeah Sidewinder/Slugshot/Barrage
White Mage: Fck yeah Raise 3 / Teleports / Cure V Bomb
Samurai: Fck yeah Tachi: Gekko / Meditate
Red Mage: Fck yeah Convert / Refresh / Unlimited MP
Black Mage: "BOOM BABY! Did you see that spell animation?!?! Fck yeah!" / Massive damage
Dragoon: Fck yeah Pet Dragon / Jumps / Penta Thrust flying objects

I just really hope that they can bring that feeling back into 14. I also loved how you developed a reputations based on your gear achievements in game. Even though you were a Samurai just like 500 other people, but you were the SAM who had the Hagun and +120STR and did the most damage on Tachi:Gekko. People always bowed down to you and wanted you in their parties / raids / and used you for comparison. I miss things like that D:

Some kind of awesome animation, life saving, tide turning, job specific 2-hour ability would be cool (Doesn't necessarily have to be 2-hours till next use lol).

I agree. My advice to OP, if they don't want to be let down, log out tonight and don't log back in for about 14 months. Then there should be something, if not, GW2 and SWTOR and Oblivion, etc will be waiting.

My favorite moments were the ones where everyone in the PT was dead, and I saved the day and finished the fight with my THF that was impossible to hit.

not just "hell yeah" abilities, but also give us some "hell yeah" weapons. Ones that when we use them actually make us notice a real difference in damage over the previous ones. Give us a weapon that is in a "Best in Class" type category. I remember the first time I got the E-Bow and started doing sidewinders with that thing. - That's what I'm looking for!

What about automatic fist bumping at the end of each battle?

Why is everyone requesting stuff for jobs/classes that don't even exist?

If it's like this then i'd like my Ifrit summon to have a limit break that destroys the whole universe..... am i doing it right?

The game just needs more UMPH regardless of jobs/classes. Nothing in 14 gives you the sense of achievement. We need something to work towards and we need something that makes us feel like we are actually playing a thm or a conj or a gld. With the current armor weapons and abilities in this game it feels like the game is just a boring story book, a story book without any pictures D: Story books without any pictures bring tears to my eyes.

I don't want to use my imagination with 14, I want the imagination to already be there so I can experience it and see it! and in the end say "Fck Yeah!"

SAM: Fck yeah 2 hour solo light skillchain.
NIN: Fck yeah overpowered shadow images and nonstop attacks with capped haste.
WAR: Fck yeah berserk/mighty strikes/double attack king's justice for millions of damage.
WHM: Fck yeah benediction saving lives and getting paid for teleports.
BLM: Fck yeah we can kill anything if you get 18 of us together.
COR: Fck yeah i'm a gambling man blat blat instant free damage and sleeps with quickdraw.
DRG: Fck yeah party invites at last.
SCH: Fck yeah I am (was) the true master of both magic styles.
DNC: Fck yeah bust out the jamz I can solo everything.

Also, they need to show off more concept art for that wannabe artifact armor.

If they were like Shaolin monks then they wouldn't branch from PUG, just sayin.

I really wish they'd add a dedicated Martial Artist class/job like Yang from FFIV. They could call it a Black Belt. Pugilist lacks the kicking and other sorts of awesome martial arts weapon skills.

Motion-capping it wouldn't be THAT bad(maybe expensive). Just get a Karate, Aikido, and a Judo practitioner in the studio, put some foam balls on 'em, tell 'em to do awesome shit, and call it a day.

Or maybe add a "blitz" mechanic for certain Pugilist skills a la FFVI.

In fact, make blitz an unlockable ability through a quest, then within it, have certain commands maybe similar to those in FFVI, but you have to go on quests to unlock 'em. To avoid over spamming, give the overall "blitz" command like a 1 or 2 minute cooldown.

Actually did that once, in...that one antican place people went to PT in during the mid-50s. PLD tank pulled a PLD class mob (that we explicitly told him NOT to pull), and to ensure the rest survived as they fled, I pulled off the chain above. However, the WHM was a friend, and vowed to keep me alive, so everyone else came back, and we eventually survived. The WHM was dumping Cure IVs down my throat without aggro issues. I felt like a God. A very very squishy, 2H wearing God.

The first thing said after the mob died? PLD: "I used my 2hr!"

You make me want to reactivate FFXI. I can use a good ole merit party :D

I wouldn't be surprised if they brought back XI's 2 hours, possibly as Job-specific abilities. Certainly would be nice.


What I'm curious about now though, in light of the job system, is how that might affect future abilities. IIRC, we found Assassin in the .dats a while back, which means Ninja could very well be a job for that class. That would also make Dual Wield an exclusive skill in XIV though.

I will say this much - Please, for the good of the game, don't bring back Utsusemi. At least not in the way it was done in XI - maybe how it was done in FF4 & 5, but not XI as it continues to be one of the most overpowered and abused abilities in the game.
