There's something i miss from 1.0...

...it's the job change.
Remember that little tune and colors flouting around your characters unique to each job as you change ? That's just details but i really miss that tho ;_;

It still happens if you manually equip your job crystal from the character sheet. Doesn't if you just use gearsets though.

Those few days before 1.0 servers finally went down sure did feel like a death @___@

I miss it so much. Also the job/class icon next to the EXP bar.

That thing seriously had me confused when the game was released. I never knew if I was on the job or the class since there was no indication whatsoever and you had to unequip the soul crystal to do class quests (since apparently, the WAR is a MRD, MRD is not a WAR type relationship was taken away). At least they added the job abbreviation below the EXP bar... Not as good but still something I guess.

I enjoyed the main-menu bar too in 1.23. That little chord it played when you opened and reversed the chord when you closed it.

Nope.

If you watch my video at around 30 seconds you'll see when I use a gear macro it does that spiralling effect showing the Black Mage Job Crystal and the Decending Woosh > Clunk sound, THAT is what we don't have anymore.
Was a nice effect, not sure why they removed that one, it would have a very low data/memory and processing impact.

Yeah - For as much flack as 1.0 and 1.23 get from the ARR faithful, it sure did nail down atmosphere and higher production value in certain areas. Even for a 'throwaway' version (1.23) it still had more going for it than the full-on-everyone-at-square-enix-working-on-it ARR version in just..so many areas.
