Anyone have a lot of success with chocobo leveling ?
What's "a lot of success" to you? (No spaces before) For me success already is to be on level 10.
Anyway, the absolute is relative. It would be Urth's lvl50 Water Sprites, but the place is always full of people. Wineport has lvl49 and a few lvl50 enemies, but has people every now and then. You see the trend? High mob level, their abundancy and your schedule there are all factors to take.
That sounds great. Worth a shot. Thanks!
I did it by mindlessly creating macros and then just go and farm something like Diremite Webs or Fleece ... something. Then grind out a class. Took me "grinding" out ACN and CNJ from 20-45 each class to get Rank 10. Honestly , not even worth it.
If you need lots of high level monsters, go check out the Beast tribe lands. The Sahagin and Ixal bases are generally very deserted.
Leveling your chocobo will be a long and painful grind if you decide to just level it up for the sake of it by grinding. I suggest just buying ridiculous amounts of greens and whenever you fight anything in the open world, to summon your chocobo. A good way to level it is to have it out when doing beastmen dailies, treasure map hunts, FATEs, or leveling another class. Have leveling the chocobo as a long term side objective.
Chocobo leveling camps are a secret because people don't want their spot to get over camped >.> lol
I either combine it and hunt the Level 45-46 boars in South shroud in order to keep my leatherworker busy or I combine it with spiritbonding and go to Northern Thanalan. Great map with loads of Level 49 enemies and lots of FATES with even more enemies. No drops tho besides some earth crystals, just grinding.
Dunno how far you already are, I am on my last two combat classes and I have steadily used my choccobo for levelling them all in FATES, job quests and also combat leves. I also used it to gather enemy drops for my crafters and like I said for spiritbonding but I am only close to Level 8 lol. Level 7 to 8 is 700.000 EXP if I recall correctly and most exp you can get is a tad more than 200 per kill so it's around 3.500 enemies you need to kill at least to level from 7-8. So if you wanna level your choccobo, be prepared to have some patience. ;)
Just have your chocobo out while doing your beastmen dailys. Then at least your killing 2 bird with one stone
castrum occidens or any one beast tribes, and spirit bond while you're at it.
Urth's Gift or w/e the area that is close to Camp Quarry Mill in the Blackshorud.
The water elemental are level 50 and in abundance.
On my server it is commonly used for Chocobo EXP, so you might get luckly if there are parties there.
It can support a light party(or full party if you inlcude the chocos). anymore players, it becomes hard...
You want to fnd mobs that gives you max exp(and low hp), which is 240? an chain them.
As others have said here, if the Urth's Fount location is occupied, move to Northern Thanalan and kill anything in sight, mixed in with fates (if you are on a job that can spam aoes - since you have to have claim for the chocobo to get xp)
Is fate actually worth it? i mean it needs to have Adds.. and i don't think those adds give good exp.
Wish chocobos could get some exp from the quests completed while he's out. Cause the amount of exp needed is ridiculous.
"Here lies Warkles, he kweh'd too hard."

This guide has tips idk if it's still good might want to look into it. I thought was interesting if you are very serious about this you can make choco lvling parties: link. I'm just not that serious about it. The lvling for choco companion is harsh atm so who knows maybe it'll get a work over in a future update so what is the point of focusing on it now? For me I just have him around casual like for fun don't take his help seriously. Good luck. :)
Well my chocobo hit rank 7 last night and now it's TNL is SEVEN HUNDRED THOUSAND XP....at best I get around 250ish xp per enemy in a good group pull. Sometimes a little more, and less way more often... so on average I'll need to kill somewhere around 2800 level 50 enemies to reach rank 8. I have a newfound respect for the patience the people with rank 10 birds have.
