Ask Questions for Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XIII! (Gardening)

We're pleased to announce the next Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XIII focusing on the many exciting updates coming with Patch 2.2! This next Live Letter will take place on Friday, March 21, 2014, from 2:30 a.m. (PDT) / 9:30 (GMT)!

In this thread we'd like you to specifically pose questions regarding the upcoming addition of the Gardeing. In addition to collecting your questions in real-time via Twitter, we will also use this thread to gather your questions ahead of time and answer them during the event.

Is Gardening a job in-game, like botanist/miner?

Will Gardening be specific to FC Housing or will I be able to play with gardening even without FC house?

Will the items procured from gardening be unique to gardening or be of the same things botanist can already acquire?

Will gardening be as... mysterious and interesting as it was in say FFXI, or will it be more or less you know exactly what's going to come out of your pot the moment you plant it?

Will gardening be in an instance connected to the house, sort of like a greenhouse extension?

Does the garden's size vary by the size of the Free Company house?

How long will the products in our garden take to grow and will there be a timer indicator for it?

Will materials grown from Gardening only be able to be sold via Free Company Vendors?

How will Gardening impact the marketplace? Will it just create more influx of already common items or can we expect extremely rare materials to surface?

Could you describe the process of gardening? Will there be seeds, water pails, and things of that nature involved?

Two questions:

1. Will it cost me *(insert ridiculous housing price here)* to purchase some land so I can start my garden?

2. Will I need to defend my garden from waves of attacking zombies?

If Gardening is coming to housing. Where will the garden go? Our front yard space is already very small no matter what property you pick.

Will in-game weather have any effect on gardening? ;3 lol

Will we have option to plant & garden inside & outdoor? Will plant pots be added? Will gardening be anything like XI where Crystals/Seeds/Time is need?

Will the garden show the different types of plants? For example, tomato plants with tomatoes on them, flowering herbs, cabbage in the ground.

And, will we be able to show off our gardens to other players?

Will there gardening-exclusive items for culinary and alchemy? Does gardening system helps to create varition for crafters or is it simply for leisure? I really hope this new system help the developer to create more features for housing (for example feast with the fellow team or fc).

Will gardening become available in personal housing as well?

Will we get pesticides and anti-Lalafell and anti-Miqo'te pesticides?

Will this system be deep like XI or is it irrelevant to main game like fishing?

Is this gardening consider as BTN's class or a new class such Farmer, Gardener, etc like that? Or just a independent gardening with no leveling of it?

The grass outside is rather small to garden let alone raise a chocobo. Who a, I kidding ...we do the e enough Gil save for any of this.

Will the garden take up 1 slot of the front yard allowance or will it be a special addition such as an awning or a chimney?

Will you be allowed to place multiple gardens?

Will garden size depend on housing size?

In the Live Letter IX a bit of gardening was mentioned and Yoshi answered "We have plans to allow you to place a croft in your garden and harvest various items from it in patch 2.2. The other day I was asked if my vision was: A – anyone can casually grow things of almost no value; or B – plant rare items, harvest from them, and then use them to grow other things together. I answered B."
Is this still something that gardening will have? Like rare items that are garden exclusive when 2 or more members of the FC grow things together?

Will FC's only be able to place gardens after a certain rank is obtained and do we have to buy the garden as an expansion to our house? Like purchase a permit to place the garden in the yard from a NPC?
