Housing disappointment

So I visited some houses mainly 1 small and one Medium. So disappointed mainly at the small house. I feel for those of you that have bought a small "house". They are more like a Inn room or Mog room. What a gip. You would think that your outside yard would be bigger on bigger houses. Doesn't look like much room for anything outside. That leaves me wondering if the plot sizes are all the same, you just have a restriction on the size of the house.

Perhaps if they are the same size, smaller houses will be able to upgrade to a larger size in the future?

They have already said they don't have any plans to let you upgrade houses, but they are looking into maybe letting you "move" since there are some items that once placed in a house, cannot be placed in another. Housing is a gil sink, it is what it was meant to be, and will continue to be.

I understand it being a guild sink, but a small FC house amounts to the size of an Inn room...that definitely sucks.

Small, medium or large. they are useless.
Can't afk in them, so what use are they?

The small house is slightly bigger than an inn room, and is getting a larger additional floor in/around patch 2.2. Small houses also get an airship/ship basement, garden, chocobo raising, and whatever else that all FC houses get.

You do realize that they are going to start having perks starting in 2.2 right?

The small houses look like the were either made for small FC's or as a single room apartment housing for player specific housing. I'm pretty sure it wouldn't be so bad if the prices and sizes were more reasonable and FC's had access to even larger houses in different housing areas. But, I'm not sure if they have the server space to handle single player housing yet.

Building an Airship and mini games I heard.
Excuse my skepticism when it comes to SE. I don't know what use an Airship is when you have Gokus instantaneous teleportation.
Mini games? We have PCs and the internet now. I can play a billion mini games on the net while bored of XIV. This isn't a console game where Mini games as a gimmick worked.

You would think SE would realize this from all the failed mini games they tried to introduce into XI.
I wonder if the employee who asked "why" to mini games got tossed off the roof.

Small isn't so bad, especially considering how affordable they have become.

Small to me is basically like I said, Mog Room. Just one big room for a small FC, is dissappointing. My thoughts as I looked at the houses, was they should have made medium the small and the large the medium and added a bigger house for large. Otherwise small just looks like a 1-2 person studio apartment. The thing I noticed though was the smaller the house the more yard they have. That leaves me wondering about gardening, will it be outside or in pots or in combo? Gardening was always interesting in FFXI when you were growing cuttings. I guess we all just have to wait until SE tells us more, specially when it comes to whether furnishings will have buffs. Anyways thanks for the thoughts and insights :)

Small houses are getting increased size and a second floor in 2.2, according to the last live letter. There is a screencap floating around showing the new size, and it's a big improvement over the current size.
