PLEASE consider staggering weekly resets, so tired of 90k errors from server crashes

Why not have Coil reset Monday, EX Primals and Tomes reset on Wed, and Crystal Tower reset on Fridays? At least then you don't have the ENTIRE server population all logging into instances at the exact same time.

Optimally this would not be the best way to do things, but we are honestly 6 months out and STILL having problems that are causing week long lockouts & missed gear drops every week.

I'd love this as well but personally, I'd just avoid doing those stuffs on reset days. EX primals on Tue/Wed, Coil on Thu does it for me.

Or people could just not pick Monday to choose to want to do everything. I'm pretty sure this isn't the ONLY day that EVERYONE has available to do their weekly stuff.

I find it laughable that you don't just not play on Mondays when the server is contested and instead ask the designers to change an entire system over something so trivial....
What you are pretty much asking SE to do is "please change the game and tell everyone what to do on what day." ...

Frankly, Monday congestion is the least of the game's worries at the moment.

I 2nd staggering the weekly resets of content. Having it all on the same day not only congests the servers but it encourages people to only login on mondays burn the content and never return till next monday. Having weekly resets of content staggered would encourage an influx of people throughout the week and keep the community more lively throughout the week.

TBH I liked how EQ did their lockouts. There was no "global reset" each event had a lockout timer. (most were 4.5 days. Some group stuff was 1 day etc etc)

Given would require each event (or Turn in this case) to be separate which is already happening in 2.2 for 1-5. But instead of having a weekly reset for fights just making it a "you can only do this fight once every 7 days" would let people set their own schedules.

Currency and such would still have to be a set day to make sense but that isn't really an issue.

If you do not have a static and choose to wait a day or two to do content with a pick up group, you are usually left with the people that are FAR LESS CAPABLE. In the case of Coil T2, by mid week there's hardly any healers to even be had.

Most Raid content in FFXI was on 72 hour timers or governed by charges (Tags for Assault on a 24hr recharge). If they used that method though we'd probably get all Coil loot each turn dropping out of one chest with the second chest only appearing 10% of the time.

Staggered reset would be a good idea. It would also prevent the current phenomenon where the players who CAN play on Monday blast through all the content and then are bored all week.

Not a bad idea. I also like the idea of timer lockouts too.

I've never had problems with doing instances on Monday, except for yesterday when it was horrible. But it looks like that was a patch issue that they are fixing tonight.

stagger resets, most people still just log in on Monday, do everything for the week (some just reset, some been waiting a few days since reset) and be done. People who log in just on Monday and run everything do so because there is only so much content and they can do it in one night. They will keep doing it in one night until their is more content than can be done in a night, but by the looks of thing by the time that happens the old stuff will not be needed (and farmable) so its still just one night.

Only way it becomes more than 1 night a week is to do shorter lockouts.

And also, i have been raiding Mondays every week since release and last night was the first time I have ever had issues with servers on reset day to where we couldn't raid (once before a single full 90k then all good).. its really not that common, and so easy to schedule for Tuesday if it is such an issue for you.

People complain that they want to play whenever and whatever they want, and that SE is forcing them with several lockouts. Then someone suggests to change it so we have a new lockout that forces everyone to play different things on certain days, instead of having the freedom of being able to plan our weekly schedule by ourselves.

Forum logic.

Different reset days would screw the freedom to get tomes with the content that we want, and the day/s we want to. You have to consider too that some people can't play the same amount of time every day, so said freedom to plan their own schedule starting from a single day of the week really helps them. We don't need SE to force everyone to do X on Y day, specially when we can make that call by ourselves without the system telling us to do it.

I don't agree either that people that do any kind of content another day of the week is far less capable (to be honest, that's what has made me reply to this topic, and before you jump to conclusions I do Coil on mondays). The only difference is that on mondays there's more people doing it, so you can be lucky and have better chances to find good players... but at the same time you have more chances to get idiots too. The best way to solve the problem? Find a static, as if you're really having issues doing it on mondays and you have enough time the rest of the week as to suggest that change, I'm sure that you can find a good static to help you another day of the week without forcing everyone else to change their schedule.
