Paladin - Stat allocation advice pleae

My main class is my WAR which has been and is handling content just fine with its HP/STR pool (now at Lv50), but I've been working on a PLD along side it since the GLA was my mains subclass.

Anyway long story short my PLD (lv43) seems very under powered and has a rubbish HP pool by comparison to WAR when it was that level.
I tried allocating bonus stats (at level up) to the VIT and STR pool as some guides suggested but I'd created to much of an even split so the PLD wasnt very powerful damage or healthwise (2000ish HP).

SO last week I spent 10K company seals and respec'd its attributes focusing on VIT mainly (as another website suggested) with only a handful of points (7ish i think) going to STR, now my HP is a bit better (2499) but its strength is still to low when solo-ing so I end up running low TP to continue fights and eventually run out of HP.
My PLD's using mainly the old WAR/DoW gear that I've now replaced with first tier relic for my WAR class.

Basically can someone advice me on how best to respec or re-armour my PLD please? I dont wanna waste another 10K seals only to fail again.

I would suggest just putting them all into Vit. Yes, it is not good for the strength stat, but you'll want them all in Vit anyway. PLD versus WAR end game with food and max everything is going to be vastly different anyway (7500 versus WAR 10,000 something I believe). There are many comments on that throughout the recent forum postings and threads.

But for earlier content under 50, I always had my Choco out to help, using Sword Oath for damage boost. Heck, my WHM killed mobs easier and faster than PLD when leveling. It's just the way it is. PLD will never really be used for its strength and DPS; it is more a mitigation tank than anything.

I'm sure others will be adding to the above or having their own input as well, but just giving my 2 cents and hope it helps.

Put all points into vitality for lvl 50. The community has decided the following stat priority for lvl 50.

Accuracy to 475 -> VIT -> STR -> (Determination = Parry) -> Skill Speed -> Crit

Using the chocobo is a good idea for story/side/beast quests, its just a problem when it comes to GC levequest since you cant be in a party even if its just your choco' lol.

since your PLD is not 50 yet. i would put it all in to STR for faster LVLing, then reset it when you hit 50 for 30 VIT.
FYI, as long as you have 475 acc and full i90, your secondary stat not that improtant. I'm running acc > VIt > Str > Crit > Parry and i Tank T5 Twintania just fine.

When leveling, the most important stats are weapon damage and defense. So gear is more relevant then the stats you allocate. If you already respected, then you should just wait until you hit 50 before you respect again, because seals get hard to come by. Now I don't think you need good gear for leveling, I would still advocate getting the best weapon you can have. That combined with rage of halone combo, "should" be enough to hold hate on anyone not fully hq melded. As for dmg mitigation, def is all you need, having more HP doesn't really matter pre-50 because eHP isn't as important, since the difficulty of story missions are generally tailored for non-optimized players.

If you run dungeons for leveling, do put all the points in vitality.

if you want to kill faster when do daily and stuff like that when solo, you can always have a str jewel set and summon chocobo, thing will work fine

A suggestion, is what i do when i want to pld solo, i slap on the closest level Drg gear. Drg shares some of the pld gld war mrd gear, has 2nd highest defense but the stats are for dmg and hp. Dump all your points into vit while levelling because 1hp is the difference between win or lose.

Whilst I agree with the +30 Vit point allocation, I'd be wary of those secondary stat weightings.

Det is definitely better than Crit - both increase average DPS; but Det increases it more... but all that (tiny) amount of additional DPS will affect will be enmity generation - and Shield Oath and Defiance are already major enmity gains. By comparison, the vast majority of attacks in the game can be parried. Tanks can't stack enough Skill Speed to make it viable, and they already have TP issues in long fights as it is.

@ The OP: Go +Vit, and grab a chocobo companion if you feel you need more DPS or a bit of healing when you're soloing. If you really really want to, once you hit 50 you can make an alternate set of "DPS gear".

Those sound like guides/websites you should no longer visit. 30 VIT only, every time, every day.

If you plan to do Endgame content (Raiding mainly) you will want full VIT for Tanks. VIT > STR for endgame, I survived death at the Hands of Twintania with 41 HP before so every bit of HP helps.

For Secondary Stats I tend to go for Accuracy to ~472 > Parry > Determination > Skill Speed >= Crit (I honestly don't care much for SS or Crit for a PLD, not that useful since its gonna be low anyway)
