Transfer from legacy to non legacy worlds will be lifted at March

As the economies of non-Legacy Worlds have now had time to mature, restrictions on World transfer for players on Legacy Worlds will be lifted on March 1, 2014 at 08:00 (GMT).

In order to allow the economy of newly established Worlds to stabilize, the following restrictions have been set in place for Legacy Worlds.

Transferrable Current World Destination World
○ Non-Legacy World → Legacy World
○ Legacy World → Legacy World
× Legacy World → Non-Legacy World

The world transfer page still list those restrictions. But I don't expect that page to be updated until the restriction is removed.

Probably same charge as has been there since world transfer service fee started... Can't see much reason for them to offer it for free again...

Not after they pretty much forced folks to, in no small terms, deal with it by stranding them on Legacy for... How long? Almost 8 months?

Let's see... Legacy got one free transfer last summer so they could choose which server to start on once the game went live...
Then they got the free transfer when world transfer went live, with the restriction being they could only transfer to another legacy world...

I myself have legacy characters on Ragnarok from 1.x. I didn't want to be restricted to legacy worlds, so I simply rolled from start instead.

And it's a little more than 6 months since servers went live.

Yeah they better do it for free if your transferring off Legacy considering we have never had an option to do that.

They did that so the multi-millionaires with all level 50s wouldn't move to a new server and take over the economy. This also let new players not only build their own economy but get a chance to have their own server firsts. It was a smart desicion on several levels. And now that the economies have stabilized and turn 5 has been beaten/ready to be replaced by new content they are allowing us to now transfer as we wish.

And since we are all equal now and legacy already had 2 chances for free moves, it's more than fair for us to pay now. Especially since we also received an extra free fantasia (likely a $20-$25 value).

Free transfers were only because people were not able to choose the server they wanted to be on due to the problems they had. Kind of a given that didn't get to pick your server by playing a legacy character.

they've been doing everything they can to make me quit this game... waited months stuck on crappy server and now I have to pay 18$? disgusting...

Yeah, your advantages as Legacy until now (and from now on) are disgusting.

If you pay the reduced subscription, it has probably already paid off the 18 dollars.

You're mixing up characters on legacy worlds with Legacy account-holders, as the two of them are mutually exclusive.

No. No it isnt. We never got a chance to move OFF of legacy. We were always given half assed moving options.

My friends could not join me on Hyperion (after talking them into doing it when they didnt want to) because Hyperion was on lockdown for almost 2 weeks after launch. I could not move to non legacy because SE would not allow it.

So my inability to move to the server I wanted is all on SE so thye damned well should allow us to move off for free.

But it was public knowledge that server transfers were not going to be available from Legacy to non Legacy. Whose fault was it that you made a character on that server? Should have waited for an open spot on a NA/JA regular server.

Yeah, should totally have made a character on a non-legacy server back in 2011.

The 1m gil limit and 100k per retainer will deter most people from transferring. Most people don't want to lose like 95% of their gil.

Are you able to submit transfer apps now? And if so, does the log in restriction take place today after you submit the app? Or are you able to play until March 1st at the specified time? If anyone knows, would be greatly appreciated :D

Better Idea would be to buy allagan coins since they are pretty much a straight transfer of money you can npc without relying on an unstable market that drives down prices. You buy million in materia then flood the market the prices will drop like stones and you'll still lose a large fraction of your money, where as allagan coins can just be npc'd for about what you *should* buy them for.

this implies she paid for the subscription to get legacy status, many 1.0 players did not take advantage of this. don't just assume because she has legacy achievements it means she has legacy status. it most certainly does not

The big thing is going to be the gil limit, it was actually 3 mil for a bit but I guess they changed it again. Either way, 1mil limit is very very low and most wont even consider it.

Well, I'm going to be all over this transfer considering I do have Legacy status yet have never had a million gil at any time in my... time in XIV. My XI linkshell is on Midgardsormr, it's been such a pain not being able to play with them like I did in 1.0.

that may well be but the person who mentioned it mentioned legacy achievements not the chocobo. I did not check her page, I was just stating legacy achievements do not imply legacy status(which is true), had the chocobo been mentioned I would not have spoke up

Can't wait. Hopefully all those people who harass me and my friends for being roleplayers will leave now.

For the first few weeks of 2.1, I have done dungeons consistently, and sadly no allagan pieces drop anymore, it was replaced by straight up gil. The only way to get Allagan Pieces now is to do quests. So that is out of the question when moving to non-legacy.

I let a friend of mine talk me into making a toon on Balmung. I hate it here. I wanted to leave the legacy server and go to a fresh server, now that 2.2 is around the corner, I have all but stopped playing this game. It just isn't worth my time anymore, not with other games that have been keeping me more engaged with more/better content, and better stories, and of course, some of them are f2p with subscription.

So paying $18 to leave the legacy server to a non-legacy server is not an option for me anymore. And pretty much, I don't care for transfer service anymore where this game is involved.

I can't release their names, but I wish my blacklist was much longer, it has been full of 200 of them since December 9th, 2013, and I still get them. Which has me quitting the game. I actually will say that Balmung has one of the worst communities I have seen. There are good people on the server, but sadly, most of the good people left when free transfers came out when the server transfer started, but I was bound with a friend, didn't want to leave her.
