Hello.
I found out that King Moogle Mog has become unplayable since patch 2.16.
Lag starts during the first cutscene's loading and gets worse once the fights starts.
The moogles don't even appear, so they are untargetable. Same goes for the King. They spawn like 2-3 minutes later than they are supposed to be.
I'm on PS3 and its lag issues are well known, but I have already cleared Thormarch several times before, without any problem at all.
Anyone else experimenting the same issue? :(

Not the moogle fight no, but since 2.16 I'm having the same issue with Acheron (sp?), or w/e the last boss of CT's name is. Ct runs very smoothly for me until that fight. Then I'm lucky if I see the boss at all. I don't see the Giants or the Claws at all. Or ground AOE markers.

Yeah.
I hate and also doesn't see the purpose of this new animated flashing AOE, as if PS3 connection wasn't crappy enough without them. -

I'm on the PS3 and the new AoE markers haven't had any impact on my ability to play. Have you checked to make sure noone's streaming movies, has a Macbook Pro on (funny how much damage they can do to your bandwidth just by being on) or what not on your network? Seriously, only time I really lag is during the previous instances.

I'm on PS3, and I personally haven't had any more or less lag than normal. Maybe the framerate's dropped ever so slightly, but I spend a lot of time in La Noscea, and its always had a less stable framerate than the other four locations in the game. For me, at least, that's the case.

I did Moggle Mog a few nights ago and both of the PS3 players in our party (who had done the fight pre 2.16 without issues) had the exact same complaints you did (weird lag and moogle's not appearing), so you're not alone in that issue at least.

Just yesterday when i got disconnected inside Turn 5 of the Binding Coil, load times from being raised or just returning to the starting point after death began to take some time. I tried to reboot my system and relog but it was no good. However, going out of the instance and re-entering solved my problem.Quote:

i got a huge lag at acheron in CT & whenever i repair my equipment then exit i cant move for 10 seconds & when i dismount my chocobo i float in the air for 10 seconds on ps3.

hello! first of all...
are the people with issues using an HDD(Hard-disk Drive)?
are the people WITHOUT issues using an SSD(Solid-state Drive)?
i just upgraded my PS3 to an SSD a few days ago. and have had an awesome time. i don't get any of the issues as described in this thread. (except last night server was having issues. which caused thousands of people to drop.) and the game performs like 5x faster. (excluding things like low frame-rates. of course an SSD won't help your FPS. RENDERING FPS that is.)
as for the character thing getting stuck after dismounting or interacting with an NPC. i used to have that issue. but i haven't had it happen once since installing the SSD.
and the AoE markers... this change has zero impact on performance. not SSD related. i refer to the appearance change. but on the SSD note... i have never once noticed a delay in AoE attacks since putting it in. and now can never blame missing an AoE because of it.
in any case. everyone. it would be good to let Camate know if you are using an SSD or not. any additional information or feedback will help pin-point the problem quicker. what i am trying to say is that the issue may be how the files are being loaded. maybe something is choking file transfer.

well it was just a thought. cause out at Mor Dhona. over there at the st. field place off to the east a ways. i would dismount at the NPC for the CT quest-line. and every time i would get hung in the air. but after installing the SSD it never happened again. and i tried to get it to happen several times. so i thought maybe it had something to do with disk access.
in any case SE fixed it. so kudos to SE. and kudos to anyone not ignorant enough to keep quiet.
