Freeze: Is now based on a selected target instead of being ground targeted. Also, cancels Astral Fire and grants Umbral Ice III.
Fire II: Has a 40% chance to grant a free instant Flare.
Thunder III: Has a 5% chance to cause Rolling Thunder. Which causes Thunder to jump to up to 3 additional targets (Thunder I/II would still cause the standard single target Thundercloud proc, so you'd have options in CC situations were Rolling Thunder could wake CCed targets).
New AOE rotation = Thunder III, Fire III, Fire II, Fire II, Fire II (Flare/Rolling Thunder procs when they pop), Freeze, repeat.
Just trying to make Freeze useful and also trying to make the AOE rotation a little more fun and fluid like the single target rotation. I'm not sure if this would be OP or not. Since we can currently use transpose to do two Flares and a Fire II every 12 seconds endlessly, probably not. :)

On a side note, make Apoctastasis an enemy debuff instead of a player buff. The fact that the only damage buff we get is one we steal from archers is silly.
Apoctastasis: Causes 30% weakened resistance to Fire, Lightning and Thunder for 12 seconds. Target grants immunity for 60 seconds after to stop BLM stacking.
This would make the skill way more useful and in line with being a harbinger of destruction. -

It would be so cool having a Thunder-based AoE. Something like "Thunderstorm" with DoT and Paraylize Effect (that unfortunately we actually don't have).
Perfect with Freeze that gives you Umbral Ice III. -

They'd need to nerf the overall damage of current spells if that Apocatastasis is considered. BLM already has good damage, there's no need to increase it further. Apocatastatis gives some support BLM can do: cast it on OT that has to sit in Liquid Hell to eat Hatch if they don't have Hallowed Ground or is a warrior, cast it on low HP members in Garuda EX's Minstral Shriek or when LB the big nail in Ifrit EX, cast it on tank to reduce damage in Titan EX's should the tank reaches 5 stacks. It's situational but it is useful.
Your AOE damage is already amongst the highest.... I don't know why you would want even more to bring unbalance... -

I agree. Black mage has great AoE damage. Although, I think a chain lightning effect might be interesting to add to AoE. I think that they would not to majorly slash the DoT power of Thunder if that were to be added. Perhaps it gains a chain lightning effect if you get a proc, but it would split the damage between the 3 adds it chains to, so as not to be too overpowered (as if we aren't already :P )

The one I purposed probably wouldn't even be as good as this one. At most, you could get a maximum 3 instant flares per rotation, but that is unlikely. Firestarter is also 40% and I may get two out of the 5 fires I cast during the single target rotation. To stop Flare from being abused, I wouldn't mind at all if they made the hard cast 5 seconds (and still deplete your mana). That way, the only flares you would use that aren't procs are Swift Cast flares at the end of rotation. And you could only do that once per minute. -

If i may post a counter idea without feeling backlash? Let's get rid of your idea for the change to T3, I like it as is personally.. Let's switch out an ability that isnt the best use (Apoc) for Burst. Burst would be a short duration (maybe 15sec?) AOE Thunder.. For half of your current MP. To keep it fair, lets make it similar to Fester, in the fact it can only affect a max of X targets, lets estimate that number at 4, to make it not OMFG CRAZY OP HAXX. It would also give a whole new potential rotation, finding the time in your AF rotations of F2 to save enough mp to Burst then Flare, before switching over to continue freezes. Any thoughts on this, anyone?
