Got a q's how long will this game stay on the theme park rails?

I think like many players it cool as hell, You finally made the game access to all players, but also this is not a free to play game , so those that pay monthly need some stuff to jones on or get it on !!!! not some *****************. It is a mmo after all not some single player RPG with a little co-op added to it. You fixed it now time make it special!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or just pretend it a WoW clone.

Is there an English translation of that? My Google-fu is failing me.

I think I can answer this....the game will be on theme park rails forever. Content is released (jones it up) and old content is nerfed constantly (f2p...?) to be made accessible to the players who haven't beaten/gotten access to it yet (i.e. BCB 1-5 getting echo infused). Sorry to disappoint.

No player on the forum could possibly know. We aren't developers. Perhaps once the game matures it might come a bit off the rails, but who knows.

And are we willing to continue hoping and having the same answer such as :" wait the game is still Young, give it sometimes." but looking @ patch 2.2 its clearly the only direction Yoshi have chose for the game. Do i really want to start back from point zero ? having new allagan currency Cap / week, having my i90 gear that took me 4-5 month to get and too see it put in the garbage for being the lower gear requirement. And in 6 month from now see that happen again? Paying Montly fee for a 1day/week of gameplay?(even if its more like a 4-5hours/week) Iam going to give only one more month after 2.2 and see if i have the courage of starting all this cycle again and again and again.

And all this is sad. Because i loved that game, i had great hope for this game. But loving a series is not enough if everytime that i almost reached my goal its going to have that cycle put to garbage.. also i cant stand the fact that this game is now a Que&lobby game. I used to be adventurer but then i took a duty finder to the knee. If i want to play Que&lobby game ill go play a real good que-lobby game such as Monster hunter or PSO2. Im not having any sens of adventure because i can sit in the confort of my lovely and peaceful revenant toll.

there is no q, this is extremely causal game (yoshi p own words btw).expect it to stay on the rails forever.

This game is not a WoW clone, I hate WoW, find it extremely easy and this game is even easier than that. But its nothing like WoW.

Anyway this is a super duper omg hold my hand mommy it's too hard casual's game and it's not going to change. I'm just as mad about it as you are since I spent money on this crap. ._.

Dude, I'm right there with you on this one, and I'm a (sort of) filthy casual. Even from my point of view, there's nothing to work for. Why should I bust my little Lalafell butt to get i90 equipment when I can just wait it out. Once the nerfs hit, I can grab the equipment and skate along 3-6 months behind everyone else. There's no reason for me to adventure, no reason for me to work for anything. It's turned me into an even filthier casual and I don't like the feeling.

In all honesty, last night I realized that if I just log in once a day and do the beastmen dailies, I can get mythology gear eventually. Sure, it'll take a long time, but it will still happen. So, rather than try to challenge the dungeon runs, I can just wait.

Does that strike anyone else as wrong?

The pvp is aweful and requires different gear anyway and they nerf content so fast might as well just wait. No reason to craft, no economy, nothing to buy. No reason to do dungeons, nothing good drops. It's just...no point. :< This game turns people into casuals.

And lets not forget the LAG! On top of all this other stuff its so full of LAG it is starting to make me not want to play...let alone PAY!

Sadly, the reasons that I still care are getting harder and harder to accept.

Reason 1 - I really wanted to see what happened to Louisoix and Bahamut. After being dragged through the entire bland storyline without finding out a single freaking thing, I got disappointed. After seeing that everything is linear and that they designed crafters to be worthless, I find myself caring less and less about the storyline bits.

Reason 2 - My husband still plays. He enjoys it, but not as much as he would if there was horizontal progression, and he keeps trying to get me to start playing again. I will be logging in tonight to craft some stuff for him, maybe I'll do dailies, but I'm just not sure.

Reason 3 - This one is getting to be the hardest reason to keep alive. I keep hoping, and hoping, and being optimistic that the dev team that gave us 1.23 can make 2.0 better than it is right now. But, the more I read about planned content, the more my hopes get crushed.

It just seems like they plan to keep the progression linear until the second coming of Bahamut ><

Maybe an MMO isnt for you. This is the business model of an MMO the game is not static, new content is added, when new content is add new items are added that typically are strong than previous items. This is a perpetual carrot on a stick, why should you play then? well because you enjoy playing the game. if that lil ilvl number of having BiS ALWAYS is all that matters then yes you will be starting over in every new major content patch.

QFT. Not a truer word has been said in a long while in here.

the same thing that happened to XI at Abyssea is apparently going to happen in XIV at every patch. It's disappointing and kind of makes me not want to keep playing.

They should have created a parallel progression system like in XI, before the abomination Abyssea was added. You could do Dynamis, Sky, Sea, and Nyzul to gear your class and there were even some pieces off of random NMs that were viable in endgame. At least until Salvage came out; however, the price gate on Salvage items kept that from getting too out of hand for awhile. I don't know if this is just impossible to implement now or if it doesn't create a casual environment as all of the examples I mentioned were endgame events that casual players probably were not a part of. As Yoshi is all about catering to casuals...this is probably the case.

Edit: And before people say "this game is just starting; xi's been out for years", the current system they have in place is already making gear obsolete. I remember when Nyzul was added to the game; it didn't make any of the other endgame events' gear, or some crafted pieces, obsolete. With what we have, every other patch, whatever gear we spent time farming will be pointless.

Quoting for TRUTH. This is part of what makes it seem so worthless to log in to the game for some of us.

WoW has been doing this for years; every other patch or so a new dungeon released with a new Tier of gear that made the last tier obsolete. How is this any different?
