Suggestion: Regarding The Binding Coil of Bahamut: Turn 3

I have a few suggestions to make some changes to BCoB: Turn 3.

Seeing as how BCoB is getting put on the Duty Finder come 2.2, if it remains as is, and each of the individual turns lets you queue up seperately, I see Turn 3 as the 1st content in this game that will be 100% unused by the population, due to absolutely no incentive to even do this turn once 2.2 is released.

Possible ways they can change this is:

1. Add gil drops to the mobs, and possibly a chance at dropping rare crafting materials and even Tomestone of Philosophy mats. And definitely something useful other than just a potion from that treasure coffer in there, such as philo mats, extra gil, or even some tomestones (mainly myths) Also in doing this, make it to where all of the monsters in each respective section has to be killed to activate the jump pad. Also put in an achievement for killing every enemy and getting the coffer, and maybe some other incentives to do Turn 3.

OR

2. Join turns 3 and 4 together in the same duty. This could be accomplished by putting up a barrier at the end of Turn 3 and a zone line (much like the one used in CT and Pharos Sirius) Getting to the bottom and activating the switch would take down the barrier and allow the party to cross the zone line to enter Turn 4.

Share your thoughts on this suggestion. I just don't like seeing any content, especially content with such awesome music that plays in Turn 3 as well as the trash in Turn 1, go completely to waste.

But you've raised a very decent point!

I know most people currently opt for dodging this turn and leaping straight in to turn 4 piggybacking on someone who's downed it that week.

As it stands, turn 3 is a hilarious sprint to the finish and the first to the bottom wins our 1,000gil bet.

I doubt they'd shuffle loot around, and I'm certain people won't bother running for the gil.
But perhaps there'd be incentive if unique crafting materials dropped, or, the mobs inside had an increased drop rate compared to other sources. 50% chance to drop mat x.

Good thread. I'd like to hear some other thoughts on this!

Turn 3 is the best duty for Spiritbinding. I don't see it becoming unused, especially when you can just spam it over and over again.

Again why wouldnt players do Turn 3?

And keeps people out of CT!

it'll be THE SB place. sadly, bots will do the same and crash the materia market even further.

They could display the best timing for turn 3. No rewards, just satisfaction to be the first on server. :)

I plan on running it to spirit bond. Not useless at all.

Not to mention it is the only real place to Spiritbind iLv70+, and with SE handing everyone Grade V Carbonized Matter in the 2.1 main scenario quests, I wouldn't be surprised if we see Grade V Materia sometime soon, which will almost certainly only come from iLv70+ gear.

I'm all for your first suggestion. The second..not so much. My FC currently runs this gauntlet style and we train everything to the exit and (hopefully) warp out before we die. I wouldn't want to have to run this before getting into T4 if they were to put each instance into DF separately.

SBing in a flash isn't enough ? T3 SB grind parties will become the must have soon enough.

Also, T3 is actually a teamwork check. My team go in 4 tank 4 healer, and every tank sacrifices himself to allow the healers to run through and eventually get 1 of us to the last switch. Then we all raise and abandon. :p But we do kill everything whenever someone is in need to SB

I am sad turn three won't get a new version. It's the most fun part of the entire thing.
