Maybe a Graphics problem
Hey guys got a techy problem for you here.
So i started playing ffxiv a bit a go and ran fine like 40 - 60 fps oon standard desktop now all a sudden its been dropping down to 25 fps and just kinda wondering what it could be and i think i know the problem prob my graphics now saying that and if it may be that or maybe its the heat here in QLD Australia here just wondering what a good graphics card that wouldnt cost me an arm and a leg for to upgrade
specs are Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-2120 CPU @ 3.30GHz, 3.30GHZ
RAM 8.00GB on 64 bit windows 7 Grapics AMD Radeib HD 6500 Series

If your system starts overheating, it might be automatically dropping the performance to help with cooling. My roommate's system does the same thing after half an hour or so, so he has to play in front of an open window (and it was -20C here all last week) or it'll eventually just crash on him.
More powerful cards also tend to come with better cooling, but you could get better and cheaper results just upgrading your case fans. It depends on your budget.

keep an eye on your temps and useage to see whats going on when that happens
how hot is it, in the room when your playing? i have a window A/C cause it will get to be 85-90 while playing without in the room

I had that problem when I played on PC during the beta. My PC barely ran the game as it was, but when it got too hot, the framerate dropped like crazy. Fixed it by putting an extra fan next to the computer to help keep it cooled.

Is it dropping to 25 while doing nothing? it all depends whats going on in the game. If you have checked your meters and for sure overheating then doing research for a gpu is a good idea.

I have checked cooling and that and pulling a higher powered fan beside it for a couple hours still gets to 50-60c dont know if thats normal or not but the card it self only has a 1gb memory on it so im just wondering if you guys know of a video card that would run this game pretty good on standard thats not so costy really maybe 200-300 depending if there is one cheaper and it stays the same heat regardless what fan i stick near it

I recently bought an EVGA GTX 760 that has 3 fans in the graphics card. It runs the game fairly decently, and it costed about 250ish. I also installed Precision X that allows me to manually change the fan speed for certain temperature. So it's unlikely to get overheated.

If you're in Brisbane like me, the temperatures here were around the 40C mark over the weekend. That could be a cause. The coming week doesn't look to be anywhere near as hot though.
Edit: And if you're looking for a cheap but good computer parts store in Brisbane, check out MSY. There's a branch in Morningside and another in Slacks Creek (and others around the country). They offer the best computer bang for buck I've been able to find. Good luck. Sorry I can't offer any advice on specific cards by the way.

50-60°C is typically fine for Radeon cards, they do tend to run hotter than their Nvidia counterparts.
Did the game start to run at a lower FPS after a recent update or have you made any changes to the PC (software or hardware) recently?
One thing I would suggest checking if you have not yet, is your PC's power settings for the CPU.
Typically this is set to use as low as 5% of it's power if Windows determines you don't need 100% of it, which can bottleneck your video card in the process (also, Windows is not a good judge of when you need that extra CPU power...). Set it to 100% in the power options or 50% if you still want to save some power (honestly though, your CPU doesn't consume that much power at 100% anyways, and it won't save you that much money over the year).
*EDIT*
What are your idle temperatures with that Radeon by chance?

56C atm and cpu 53C and i am near brisbane in bundaberg and i didnt change any settings its just started being slow and rubber banding but it has been a big heatwave recently...so i dont know whats going on like my fiances laptop runs this WAY better than my desktop and i came to the conclusion that its the card and she has a nvidia in her so im thinking maybe nvidia is better than radeon?

Try re-installing the drivers.

Drivers are fine I had just reformatted the computer....
