A profitable venture?

I'll admit right now that I'm relitivly new to the game itself so I know that I'll probibly get ground for this but... I've been browsing the boards a bit and noticed that a great at of the prices are rediculously low an almost everything but the ilv 50+ items, and when I say low I mean it's the sell price to npcs low. Was wondering if buying up the low value items to increase the base price would be a logical course of action... Or would that just increase the likelyhood of more undercut items poping up.

You would need a massive amount of buying power to make something like that profitable, but then you run the risk of it collapsing anyway because there's too much supply not enough demand.

I do it sometimes on items... But like everything else you need to choose your battles and when people are scanning the market board looking for a way to make money they find something low on the board and flood the shit out of it... Sometimes you find a rare item and then put it up and by the next week its 75% off...

What if it were an entire free company of say 100+ people. The consumption of masive amounts of the low value items would greatly decrease thr supply In turn increasing the demand for the objects in question. Besides like I said, the prices are so low that any excess could be sold at any npc for nearly the same price.

I have the money to buy stock... But if it doesn't sell then it's a waste, I have bought stuff lower than npc price and sold it to them however to make a profit...

If I'm right, then with enough people and a decent pool of funds it would not only increase the value of many items but would also move twords boosting the over all flow of currency in the game. But I'm not going to lie, don't care about the economy I'm just out for a quick profit :9

Just remember as easy as it is to buy up the inventory to resell, its only a bit harder for whoever put it up to replenish his stock, more so for crafted items.

I've thought about that, but even with the restocking if they still keep it at base value then it's only a five min fix to buy it up and resale it to an npc effectively taking It out of circulation. Keep in mind I'm only planing to do this on ilv 25~45. Don't get me wrong I'm not planing to make millions, but selling something for 500 that I bought for 5 is a profit none the less.

You'll find there are certain Free Companies on certain servers already doing what you've suggested.

Pros:
Control of the market
Everyone wins if reseller can sell

Cons:
High-risk due to insane levels of supply and re-stock
A collective control the market and determine average sale price

Fair warning if you price fix in this manner your account will get flagged for rmt monitoring. They won't ban you for doing this alone but there is a chance they will take a significat portion of your gil if you happen to buy then resell items acquired by bots/rmt methods. Avoid crystals and copper ore at all costs.

The plan is to stick to low lv equipment and other non stacked items to increase the over all base value. The only issue I'm having so far is the leveling crafters that throw out massive amounts of cheep low quality goods with only the base 3 to 15 prices. I haven't found anyone in my world willing to put forth the effort to attempt to stabilize the market so I'm really just smashing my face into a brick wall. I've broke even so far, but the two or three items I have been focusing on have seemed to be raising in base value... Or people are just buying the cheep goods before I see them. Either way it seems to be making a slight impact with little to no profit so far, trial and error I guess...
