Hey folks. I thought I should make a post about accessibly for deaf players. First of all, thanks Square Enix for make such wonderful accessibly for disable people.
I'm deaf myself. I want to talk about coil static team. Often I have seeing people saying they rather to have team that can use software such as teamspeak and etc for coil. Often always make me wonder what about deaf players who will want to join them? I know we can make our own team but not all of us want to create by ourselves. I joined few coil teams before and players on these team were so nice and have patient for having me on their team like my second static coil team.
But problem is, not every one do believe that we are deaf and think we use it as excuse for not using or having software which are voice chat. Question is when I encounter that issue, what should I do? Should I find a way to prove them somehow or just find new team? I\\\\'m much curious how will SE are going with that or none.

I don't think SE can make people beleive you're deaf.
And I don't think SE can do anything about voice chat programs. Honestly as of right now, all of the content can be cleared without voice chat programs. People just use it to make things easier, or to coordinate better.
You should find a new team that'll accept you. SE cannot change people's preferences or criteria in static group members. -

I'm not exactly asking them to do something about preferences not voice chat programs. What I'm trying to say like if SE don't mind to add tiny thing like "Deaf" on character when people examine on them and see deaf sign on them to know that they are deaf or whateve like that. Players can customize that way on them without rather having to saying I'm deaf every time I join coil team.

No idea what they can do, but you could try putting it in your player search info if nothing else. I can't see people turning you down for being deaf, they just have to make some adjustments and get information into the chat. It's not a big deal by any means. Finding a nice regular group of people to play with that know would help too.

I'm hard of hearing myself. Hasn't been a problem for me, yet. I just explain to people that I need to type and why, and they seem okay with it so far. I haven't been kicked for it yet, anyway.

Since there is no voice-chat function built into FFXIV itself, I doubt SE would see fit to include information concerning a players ability or inability to use it.
However, you can add a note to your own search information stating the fact if you wish - though personally I don't believe you have to provide any reason after stating that you're unable to join voice chat. The reason is irrelevant. -

I have a friend who is hard of hearing and one of the things that drew them to RPGs was the plethora of text-based content/info so they didn't feel "left out". Adding in your search comment that you do not do voice chat (I don't do voice either). If they give you any shit about it, just tell the d-bag to f-off and go find a better group (hopefully you have found a fun and productive FC). Remember, it's your game. You play how ever the hell you want to!
You can type "/searchcomment" sans quotation and type up to 60 characters to enter your personal search comments. Or do as Umo instructed. -

That may be an annoyance for others, having to type just for me. I can appreciate that, and feel for them. But it could be worse. You could be deaf. -

I used to be in a guild with someone that was deaf. She used Dragon NaturallySpeaking or something for listening to voice chat, although she had to mute everyone except the raid leaders to avoid confusion from random chatter.

Question: Is there any software out there that will turn TeamSpeak chat into words and identify the user's who are speaking?
