So, I realize at higher levels this doesn't apply, but I've been leveling lower classes of late, and remembered what a huge annoyance it is to have a FATE spawn on top of you. I've died 2-3 times now because I've been mid-Leve, pleasantly killing a mob or two at once, only to have a dozen Kedtraps spawn in a circle around me and obliterate me in a few seconds.
It would be nice to have a warning system, or a 30-second delay on mob aggression in FATEs upon their initial spawn. Just something so that you're not automatically thrown into the thick of it if you're not ready.

Or a "Leve blocker". If you are participating in a leve, you are invulnerable to the fate so to say. Or in better words, I guess it would be a fate blocker lol

I second this. Even at mid to high levels, you can have your hands full dealing with a multi-link group of mobs, and a FATE will spawn ontop of you, leading to your inevitable demise. And it won't go away for 13+ minutes, and no one's joining in to complete this particular FATE.
My suggestion, just as we've a level sync button that allows higher levels to join a lower FATE, there should be in general a "join FATE" button. Unless clicked, we can't attack mobs, mobs can't attack us. -

I agree and disagree. While I like the idea of a warning system, I think having this as an option that you could turn on and off in the settings would be nice, too. Part of me likes getting my butt kicked every once in a while. ^ n^b

The randomness of the world is all part of the fun. Use Sprint & run away. If you're gathering, use Stealth. Or switch jobs, level sync & join the fun.

Could you also please make it so that DoL classes don't auto join FATES? I keep getting hit by FATE monsters while I'm innocently just trying to gather. :( If I can't even participate for credit in it, I don't see why it automatically registers me, regardless of the level of the FATE is compared to my own level.

Boyfriend and I were doing leves near the Ceruleum Plant the other day, those spikey mobs that lay kill circles all over the ground spawned right on top of us. We didn't need any sort of warning, I screamed RUN and we bolted before they could hit us even though they aggroed. Sometimes you just gotta drop what you're doing and haul ass.
