Please let us use crafting materials held by retainers

I honestly really dislike the retainer and inventory system. But it would be so much more tolerable if we were able to craft using the items held by the retainers.

If you agree with this, please make sure to like this comment. Staff is more likely to consider a feature when they see hundreds of players show they want it.

He means without having to retrieve them form the retainer. As long as its in their inventory we should be able to craft using those materials. If they can do it in Diablo 3 we should be able to do it here!

I agree, the inventory switching is annoying - been able to craft from Retainers would be nice.
I just started a crafter yesterday and boy does your inventory get full quick....
But we are getting bigger inventory/armour chests in 2.2 i think :)

I want this more then anything else, once you have all 8 classes to 50, it gets pretty crowded in your inventory please let us craft from our retainers

I definitely agree with this!!!! Especially in cities. I understand not wanting us to have everything at the reach of our fingertips when we're out in the wild, but in cities we should have better access to our retainers inventories.

As nonsensical as it would be, it would be nice. It would also be nice if we could look into our retainers' inventories without calling them.

And if none of this is possible, at the very least is it too much to ask for to have retainer bells be available in more places? We have delivery moogles at every single Aethercite destination in the game (I think I've used a moogle outside of Gar/Lim/Uld maybe ONCE?) - put retainer bells there, too, and I would be a happy camper.

I remember seeing something about retainer bells in housing .. but that may have just been another request thread in the forums.

But yes, being able to use items with the retainers or even check if the retainers have something would be very helpful.

I just came back to the game and am pretty frustrated with this aspect of crafting. There are literally hundreds of recipes for each crafting job and of the materials needed you have different qualities. To expect players to enjoy crafting when their inventory is packed with these materials is just crazy. For how extensive the crafting in FFXIV is I am just shocked we haven't gotten this function yet. Nearly every other MMO out there has implemented it, included F2P ones.

Man oh man, this would be great.

I agree with this, a great QoL change for the game.

Diablo 3 once has the same system like FFXIV, and after many requests from player, now you can freely craft item without the mats in your inventory.

this would be a briliant qol addition. make it happen

WoW has recently added this feature in as well (can now use mats in bank, no need to carry them) would be a great idea here too through retainers

There is a bit of lore behind retainers. It is said they follow you around town. So atleast anyplace that would reliably have a a retainer bell(main cities, housing wards and houses themselves) this should be possible. Outside of that I'd say no(even though I would like it).

Make my crafting life easier, and my inventory too... I have inventory issues 95% of the day, having always to clear useless drops and save in the different retainers all the crafting stuff, without saving the stuff I want the most to craft at the moment...

I have a good organization with it, and of course I could save it all in retainers... But because sometimes I'm super lazy bastard, I prefer to have the more common stuff for crafting in inventory already...

if they do this you would most likely lose the ability to keep extra Unique items on retainer.

trade off is not worth it for me.

being able to search so that you know what you have on your retainer is enough for me.

Thats weird. I couldve sworn we could already do this. Must be thinking wrong game.

Also, I agree the retainer thing it s a horrible idea. Why we dont just have a bank is beyond me. Oh right... because selling more bank slots with a monthly fee sounds like more of a rip off than an extra 'retainer' to hold things for you.:cool:

They've done it before in XI, so clearly that's not a big issue. Although I'm not sure how the lore explanation goes. Maybe some kind of moogle magic or something. I'm not sure about crafting in that game, but a friend told me you can change out gear that is in your storage on the fly now, so ya lol.

Forgot to add, I agree that changes are desperately needed. The Inventory management desperately needs some work. It's needed it for a long time. It's very hard to tell items apart. It's great that relics have a special tile color, but we probably need something like that for a lot of different kinds of items, to help with the visual aspect

I've seen this feature in other games and, I agree, would be great to get it here. We need Grekumah to stop in and read this so it can be passed to the devs!

Fair choice, I'm okay with it.

If you were in close proximity to the retainer bell, sure. In city States, at houses, etc..

Anywhere else, out in the wild, or at gathering spots, etc.. Ehh, nah...

Just want to pop this up again for Dev notice. This is the best QoL so far that need to bring into the game. (y)

gw2 uses this system and ITS AWESOME , please SE listen! , thats one of the best ideas u can implement

Don't see a reason. Rather them focus on other things, takes 10 seconds to grab whatever you need off retainer.

This is for a normal PC with normal connection (no lag, no spike)

Before: 5 seconds to select into Summoning Bell, 3 seconds to select the retainer that keep that material, 5 seconds for them to appear and say hi, 2 seconds to select the "Entrust or withdraw items", 10 seconds to look for them in 7 tabs of inventories, 2 seconds to get them out, 2 seconds to go back to the menu selection, 5 seconds to say goodbye to him. Then start the craft, and repeat.

After: 2 seconds to open the Crafting Log, 2 seconds to select the items that you desire to craft, 1 seconds to press the button "Synthesize", start crafting, finish the craft.
