It's been half a year, Name Change plz

I've been patiently waiting for Name Changes and others been waiting on Fantasia. You confirmed "someday" you will add Fantasia to the store, whats up with Name Changes?

In theory, you could Apply for World Transfer Service, prior to leaving, create a character with your Name on the server you are Moving to. Change Name. Wait 3 Days then Transfer back Home.

Need a new anime name?

Done this before. Can confirm it work. Luckily I did this during the "Free World Transfer :D

On that note, I'd really like a Free Company Name Change. You know...cause some times you make an FC and later realize the name is just not funny enough.

I wish they would let us rename. Day I purchased FC, asked what name had been agreed upon, got told Judgement. Turns out the guy that told me that decided to just make it what he wanted, he never asked the other officers jack. Le sigh. I would love to rename our FC. Please give us this option.

Don't allow name changes. I've got a blacklist of several individuals - fake crafters who cons people of their money, ragequit bad players, and general aholes. It would be a disaster if they all changed their names.

I hope they can make it that they stay on the blacklist, now with their new name.

"might" be possible. There is no might about it, make it happen. We are willing/paying costumers.. add the feature already.

lesser games with a lot less funding have this feature by 6 months.

Usually there's a player ID tagged with your character as well, so changning your name wouldn't affect this. after you changed yoru name, you'd show up on blist/flist/ls/fclist/etc as the new name.

They already said they will offer some kind of service for name changes, of course when that will be who knows...

There are those friendly Anime Nerds that have a new Nr1 Name and want it. Because Sugoi Narrotoh isnt awesome enough. I vote. Let them. Make them pay 25 bucks.
There are those that when initially making a name made a mistake of some kind, be it using "wrong" naming conventions or whatever. I vote Let them. Make them pay 25 bucks.
There are those that grieved a lot of people, are known serverwide, and nobody likes them. They want to wash their name clear. I vote. Let them. Make them pay 2500 bucks. (I know that will be hard to figure out, but people like this just are annoying)

I put alot of thought into my character look and name if we all did this we wouldn't need a name change, I still have my Fantasia.

Can confirm this.
A few weeks ago I had a deleted character on my friendlist and a few days later it was gone but an unknown name was there instead. Turned out that it was the same player/character.

Not that I should have to justify this to anyone - it's an effing game that I play for fun, I should be able to re-customize my character as much as I like, if it requires extra man-hours on SE's end I'm happy to pay for such a service- but personally I'd like to swap my main and my alt's appearance/names. I find I'm happier playing on my alt than I am on my main, and would prefer to have her appearance and name. Sadly the way things are I'd be stuck with my old name, and locked out of all of my gender specific gear if I were to make the switch.

I really do wish that SE would give this issue a bit more priority. Name change and item swap have all ready been shown as being possible on SE's end, I really don't understand what the hold-up is.

Fantasia is almost useless for those of us who want to swap character gender.

Never said I was perfect I'm far from. Also, didn't say you needed to justify yourself to me. Just stating ny opinion on the subject. Last I check I'm entitled to one just like you are to yours.

Should have chosen a good name to start with. Not SE's fault that you want to be anime character. Why pick a race and name that you're not 100% into.

Looking at your name, it are surprising you no want for change name. If I were pick that name I would make for delete character from shame.

Name changes should NEVER be allowed unless you transfer to a server that already has your name. Same rules a FFXI. I do not think fantasia should be sold either. The barber is plenty.

I'm not for name changes. This could be a workaround for blacklisted people to have a fresh start.

No. Name change ability is just stupid. Pick a name and go with it. Name changes lead to trolling. Something that never should be helped along by a deliberate game option. Bad enough we have idiotic SE adding things like abandon (which they said people requested but damed if I saw one post here for it).

I would only agree with it if the name you change to isn't some stupid popular name misspelled, some pusdo Japanese, or anime name.

Name changes don't affect blacklist or friendlist, people remain in those lists. All the naysayers to name changes are also forgetting that with the use of Fantasia, people change races and/or genders making their names just not match anymore.

On another note, I wonder if people realize that while you see plenty of Western players name themselves in JP-esque names, the same happens on the other side of the pond with JP players that name themselves in Western-esque names.

Yup i noticed this right away when i started playing on the tonberry server with a friend of mine, met a lot of nice jp players and most of them used Western-esque names.

Whoa take it easy haha, You're not punished at all, It was you're choice. If you made a dumb character thats your problem. Cry me a river.

I happen to like my character and my name, but I can definitely understand where people are coming from on this, and agree one hundred percent as well. Fantasia is by and large, a useless item unless it allows you to change your name as well. I don't understand, AT ALL, why anyone would vehemently be against this to the point of argument. As long as they make it so that I'm still blacklisting that person, then I don't care. And even then, trolls and jerks will still be trolls and jerks, they could just make an alt too and grief people. Either way, allowing it isn't going to start a flood of trolls, the flood has already started. XD

So am I to take it that your "opinion" is that everyone should know exactly how they want their character to be when they make it, and that they should never want to deviate from said character's name, race, gender, etc.? Just because YOU are happy with your character, or feel that you may never want to change him doesn't mean that others will feel the same. Your idea was flawed, and narrow-minded.

You came in with a pretentious attitude, hence the snark. Not everyone is in the same boat that you are, and it is not unreasonable for us to request something as logical as a name change funciton, in a game where we can alter nearly everything else about our character with one item.

If they add it good on them. But changing your name doesn't make you a better player. I don't understand why having a different name is such a big deal... I hardly even see my name when I play. I'm open to see why people want this though? Must be a personal thing, seeing as people are for and against it.

I can think of a few examples...i'm pretty sure it would appeal to RPers, maybe the name they gave the toon they are RPing just doesn't fit after all and want a change, there are many reasons why someone would want their name changed, however we may feel about it ultimately it's their choice if they want to change it.

I am happy with my name, but feel sorry for those who simply made a name to hurry up and play the game.

i used my RL name on my character jz because i cant find a good name ( my own taste ) :/

people want to name change because of this. personally, it's just a little annoyance that i put up with but when name changes come out i will definitely change it. i like the name, but it's kinda weird having a roegadyn name with a lalafell character. i did not expect to have an item that lets me change my race and decided that i wanted to try something different. i ended up liking it, but now my character is stuck like this. i might just switch back to roegadyn depending on whether fantasia or a name change becomes available first, just for consistency.

Haha, it is "stupid"? Sorry, but trolling exists enough already. People don't care about their "reputation" in an MMO with a lot of cross server content like the duty finder and crystal tower. Most won't bother spending money to change their name for consequences in a community that barely exists. For the rest that actually care enough to spend cash on it, they already have the option of server transferring that includes a name change.

Name changes would really only serve those who changed their minds on their names after they race changed, etc. As "stupid" as you think it is, SE already confirmed it anyway.
