Considering transferring my toon to another server

Question. is there any way to determine which servers are most populated? i really dont wanna transfer to a server thats the least populated lol also, anyone that may read this, im a i87 BLM with WHM, SCH and SMN at least i70. if anybody in another server besides Midgardsomr is recruiting for a BLM for coil and such let me know in this thread. i would like a good sized FC that is active by means of coil, ex primals and such. my current FC lacks this severely. dont like to pug everything :)

You can check you the worlds section of the forum. You can estimate the population based on the # of threads/posts. Plus many fc go there to recruit

yea i guess i may have to do that. tho its gonna take a good minute to do it

I hope this helps you. I searched through my browser history to find it... someone linked this to me a while ago. Please note: it only counts the population of people IN a Free Company (to weed out inactive accounts). It uses Lodestone to find the data.

Ultima Online, Diablo, Everquest....so many places they might have come from....how do you decide?

One thing you could do, which is fairly easy, is next time you login switch to a different data center and look at the server list for each. The busiest ones will be at the bottom of each list, the lightest at the top. This is to encourage new characters on the lightest servers.

If you've got some extra time on your hands, start a new character on some of those servers near the bottom. Check out, in particular, the low level areas. I've personally noticed a correlation between servers with large, healthy populations and people doing FATEs in starting areas.
