CT Loot Lockout vs 1-5 lockout removal?

Not complainign about anything, just wondering.

If the lockout on 1-5 bcb is being removed and myth is uncapped etc.... Then what exactly was the point on the loot lockout for Crystal Tower when the loot was the equivalent of what il90 will be when 2.2 comes out?

Or are we trading a weekly lockout for a loot lockout. E.g. are they adding a loot lockout to BCB and removing the lockout on the turns? Or is it going to be a free for all for IL90 gear?

If so, the first set of CT will be completely useless with no point in doing it whatsoever.

A friend just told me it's a loot lockout after 2.2, so never mind.

Yoshi already said the point of CT was vanity gear for later patches, even before we knew about the weekly lockout removal.

This has not been confirmed. Only the fact that weekly turn lockout is being removed. We'll most likely get more info in next Live Letter.

According to the official live letter translation it actually seems to be quite the opposite of what the OP thinks...

I suggest y'all read the official live letter summary it says:

we'll be removing all the limitations on the first five turns of the Binding Coil.

Yes ... i can finally farm turn 4 for my damned allagan visor of maiming. Has not dropped since Oct.

The point is to keep everyone subbed and playing at least one day of the week until the next carrot on a stick, wouldn't be surprised if the CT lockout got removed too since they seem intent on catching everyone up to do the new turns and other content, would be silly if they kept the CT lock since you can just spam Coil 1-5 for 90 gear instead but hey they've done equally silly things before, they did leave out CT for 4 months when it was supposed to be at launch after all.

The current CT is only the start of the whole giant thing. However, the CT gear is hideous so it probably won't get used my most of vanity reasons. Coil unlockd means CT will never be run again until the next installment of it.

sounds like any body can walk into coil and farm there allagan gear in 1-2 days grinding if they remove loot limits and make them easier.

I hope they make it 1 item/turn/week in T1-T5 and remove CT loot lockout. Otherwise CT would become obsolete and no one would bother with it.

Quite the opposite, LotA requires item level 50. CT would be the de-facto entry level gear farm, since you could start farming your gear as soon as you finish the story. Spend a day farming CT, you'll be decked out in ilvl80 with tomes for filling out your accessory slots. Spend the next day doing relic quest (faceroll because you're hugely overgeared) and you're ready for T1-5. Spend a weekend farming T1-5, you're ready to start New Endgame Grind(tm).

hmm if all lockouts on coil are removed then ilvl 90 is the new ilvl 70 (Darklight). That is a basic requirement for the new turns 6-9. I'm speculating of course.

I doubt that the loot lockout from CT t1 get removed before 2.3

steps will be :
1) farm DL to go in coil 1-5
2) farm AF+1/allagan to go in coil 6-9

CT loot is a bonus, and only a bonus. Not necessary. There is no need to remove the lock out. no need. The dungeon will still be full of new people because it gives a lot of philo/myth for the time spent, and il-80 is a great bonus, though not necessary.

No objection if they remove the cap except that DL would really become total trash, and they will need to implement something to do with philo tomes then

In all honesty...yes. The best way to keep CT alive is to end the weekly loot lockout and have it so you can run it endlessly all week. Now that Mytho is losing it's cap CT would be the primary source for tome farming. It also adds incentive to level other classes as well seeing as CT gear was always meant to be for vanity anyways. Maybe if they started out by making the lockout job specific we wouldn't be seeing this many whiners. SquareEnix needs to learn how to build up expansions properly, you can't just go with whatever feels convenient at the moment only to crap on it when a new expansion comes out. They should have anticipated this sort of backlash especially when our current internet is populated majorly by entitled children.

Kinda funny, for months people have been complaining at coil lockouts, now they are complaining they are getting removed for T1-5, looks like SE are damned if they do and damned if they don't with this community.

Pretty much describes everything they've done recently, a lot of which was asked for by the community in some form (see CT loot system and Ex Primal weapons).. people still whined.

I personally think AF+1 will require CT armor and a bought item from the new currency to uppgraded to AF+1
