Why can't SE just email us a redemption code instead of make us jump through hoops and pay shipping costs on top of the sub fee?
I've been looking for the cards myself to help out a friend.
I've checked Target, Best Buy, Gamestop and Walmart with no luck. Though one Gamestop did say they heard they should be getting some but was unable to give a date.
i did buy the ultimate game card at walmart for a while and then just converted them to ultimate pay points and then to crysta. i know it's a few extra steps, but at least it is a physical card you can get instantly if not paying directly by credit card. i'm not aware of them actually selling game time cards in the states yet, but at least this is one solution until they do.
Amazon sells them and get free shipping on them if you buy 2 or more
Some Gamestops have them, other places should be getting them soon.
Im sure that Tuesday every store will have them I seen them on our purchase order.
EB/Gamestop has 'em, I saw some today for 60 days.
Gamestop is the place to go :)
I think this is one huge issue with this game. The billing should have been worked out prior to launch, not months after. Unless you have a credit card or Debit card, payment methods are a nightmare. I'm currently using Ultimate gamer cards now which sucks since it actually takes state taxes. I play on PS3 so why can't i just pay with my PSN account wallet? I swear SE just loves to be a pain.
The problem is localization. The time cards have been available in Japan since launch almost because Square doesn't have to license out the process, they maintain control of the product beginning to end. Overseas it's another matter entirely given Square's lack of a powerful presence and the various laws different countries have in place. Europe only recently had the time cards show up on shelves. Konami used to have Upper Deck manage the sale of their Yugioh card game here in the US until a couple years ago for this very reason (though why they stopped and took the process over themselves is a whole other can of worms).
Selling game time on PSN is something else entirely and requires alot more work not just on Square's part but also on Sony's given that Sony owns, operates and controls PSN. Ask any developer that's had to deal with PSN and they will tell you some 'fun' stories. Honestly, I'd just be glad that Square finally did get some time cards into the US. Given all the red tape that was likely involved we could have well never seen even one card outside of an import sales site.
