Crystal Tower issues

I am getting irritated that CT is becoming annoying with the amount of people quitting the runs cos their loot hasn't drops so we end up having to wait a few mins for more people and then when we get to the second boss, the same thing all over again.

For Dungeons that has 24 people, we really need some form of control, because the way i see it, you signed up for that dungeon, so you should see it to it's completion so for CT and future dungeons similar to CT we need a few options to stop people from disrupting other players times

So could it be that for 24 man dungeons, there is no leave / abandon duty or harsher punishment to those who leave (this account for all players not the first to leave) for a 24 hour DF penalty.

I know some players will agree or disagree with me, but we do need to get people to stop being rude to other players by quitting the dungeon just cos they didn't get what they wanted......

If u run ct for 20th time in same week and still not get ur desired item, u will change ur mind

Its actually both.

You're suggesting a 24 hour lockout? I see people leave all the time and I really don't care they did. There is no fight that needs a full party. Even Atomos just needs 7 people.

I agree, but when you lose 2 tanks in the same party before you fight atomos just cos they didn't get what they wanted... you have to wait which in turn disrupts players time waiting for the rep, one run i did, after we did Thantos (name might be wrong spelling) we lost 6 people due to not getting / got their loots. Hence why people should be locked in till the end of the duty. So annoying

Get people from the other groups to cover your 6man party if 2 tanks leave

It would be great if 24 people entered and the same 24 finished, but its just not a big deal, people fill the spots in 1min usually..

The annoying bit is when a group says 'waitwait we are 7/8 we cant go', why not?

I don't see any issues with tanks leaving. That entire dungeon need 3 tanks at most to complete. If dps leaves, who cares. Heals leaving is the issue, too many lately seems to forget how to start a fight with a fully buffed group

Yeah, of all the issues that could be considered about CT, people dropping after loot is the least of them. I've never had to wait more than a minute or two from people leaving because of loot. I've had to wait longer when people rage quit before trying again on various bosses, for some reason.

My pet annoyance at the moment. White mages (I play a scholar) who insist on doing Stoneskin to the whole group before doing Protect. Some who don't even do Protect at all, seemingly waiting for the Scholar to do it. They obviously don't have a clue about their class in that they don't seem to know that WHM Protect is better than Scholar's, and Stoneskin is a total waste of time in CT in particular. I've taken to doing Protect a lot lately, apologising to the group (hoping that it acts as a hint to the ignorant WHM) for the inferior Protect. So....White Mages out there CAST PROTECT on your group at the very beginning.

Thanks to people who leave CT and allow me to join a dungeon in progress for faster tomes.

OT: I agree that it's an issue, but it's not a big enough one for SE to do anything. People who leave get replaced quickly, especially DPS, but healers and tanks don't take more than a couple minutes.

Protect doesnt cast on anyone still watching cs or loading, so I always start with stoneskin with those that are ready...Protect is always the last thing, when everyone is loaded and good to go....maybe you got some doofy WHM who start like that, then forget the Protect at the end...can't help the doofs in the world! I promise I am not like that - Protect is always on my mind......tho some tanks like to run off without it! lol

That said, yeah stoneskin can seem pointless, but it effectively gives us an HP buffer on everyone, so for the first few seconds I can position myself (make sure I got good range on all my team) without having to worry that some fool has got twatted in the face :)

Let us run it 24 man with our free company. That way if we pug it and have to deal with puggy'ness... it was our choice. But as of right now, we are strong armed into having to pug the darned place.

So I've noticed what everyone has noticed lately which is a long annoying (DUTY IS READY!) Someone Declined. This happens when Tanks or heals try to get a fast queue for in progress for myth OR when DPS falls asleep. What I propose is a Que timer like the abandon duty but less penalising. Maybe something like 3-5 minutes if you let it expire or deny the queue. This would alleviate a LOT of player headache with this skipping issue.
Thoughts?

How is it that this many people withdraw from the queue all the time?

I'd be okay with being qued up for an hour or so, since I can easily do other things in the meanwhile. But nothing rustles me as much as having to stay on top of the queue for an extra hour, unable to do anything else since you constantly have to be around as your main class to accept the invites.

I'm beginning to think that there's some glitch in the game that crashes people, or otherwise keeps the group from being formed...there's no way that someone is actually declining the invite 20 times in a row, right?

Yes, there is. It's no glitch.

It's because of people that want an in-progress run rather than one starting from the beginning. If you hit accept when the queue is ready and you see the whole 0/6 0/6 0/12 thing come up showing that it's waiting for all 24 people to accept, that means that it's not an in-progress run so they immediately back out.

Is it dumb? You bet. Does that stop people? Course not.
