i90 Gear advice needed

I've done a fair amount of research here. Question/Opinion, is it worth me now spending the 1650 myth on the legs and body for a net +20 parry and +17 det (losing some crit). Seems like a steep price for a bit more secondary stats.

The parry becomes even less needed if I pick up onion shield (can't parry and block).

I'm over 1200 myth now, can't decide if I should spend it on my secondary jobs or try for BIS(Which will change in March).

My coil group easily downs T1-4 now and working on T5. I have all myth right side as no fending accessories have dropped in 2.5 months of coil.

So the real question, is 1650 myth worth +20 Parry and +17 DET? Or would you spend it on another job. Opinions wanted.

I'd personally stick with what's available and use resources to fill gaps for another job(s) if you use it(them) enough to make use of the upgrades, otherwise just do what feels right; the upgrade from thrown together capped gear to BiS won't have a large effect and probably won't for quite a few updates to come (iirc, currently it ends up being ~4% difference in mitigation from absolute worst gear to BiS, and it will be less for the average tossed together set), so hit acc cap for the content you're running and you're gold.

My Lodestone is slow...it shows you on WHM gear (very interesting you put Skill Speed on your Astral Ring, not Spell Speed...)

Either way:
Gearing up your PLD depends on your current Accuracy too. If you need the Accuracy, but don't have Valor Coronet/Surcoat yet, I would suggest that for a net +21 Accuracy gain. For T5, your accuracy after food should be around 482.

Pants and boots are a good option to spend on, because you still gain a net +2 Accuracy, and 20 Parry always helps. Onion Shield may block more, but the amount you block for is also less. Your mileage may vary, but I am currently sticking with the Holy Shield Zenith (swap to Allagan Round Shield if you need the Accuracy).

Remember, when you change a couple pieces, you might need to change a lot more then you think. I say this because I tried viewing your character, but all I saw was hq vanya robes for your relic whm. So I don't exactly know what you have, but if I was to speculate, your probably mostly allagan? If so, if you replace the heavy allagan body with valor surcoat, you loose a lot of accuracy. That would mean you would need more valor to make up for it. As skull_angel has posted, BiS doesn't really help that much, if you have other jobs, feel free to spend elsewhere. I personally only have pld, so I spent on BiS

That was a 2AM DERP on the last two melds. Not enough to matter, didn't want to reroll and lose the crit.

I just realized I logged out on WHM, usually never do that. Should be updated shortly.

I'm all Allagan with Valor Head and Hands, I also have feet but don't use them at the moment. I know Acc caps, and what I wear depends on content at the moment. Use a bit more DPS outside of coil in Ex and HM dungeons.

Assuming at ACC cap are these secondary stats really worth it?

I would have to use boots with the chest piece + food to hit ACC cap, so I'd lose -11 DET from the feet and gain 17 on the body. Not ideal till I also bought legs. Thats the +20 Parry and +17 DET I was talking about. Seems very minimal for 1650 myth. Wanted others inputs as I'm sure other coil PLDs are questioning this as well.

Try and stay at the accuracy cap, but don't go out of your way to maximize Parry. It's still RNG dependant, and we've really got no other better stats.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I'm thinking as well. BIS is going to change with the next tier of gear in 2.2 in 6 weeks. Not sure 4 weeks of myth is worth it at this point.

Yeah, and BiS isn't actually that great to begin with compared to any other set that meets accuracy cap. Secondary stats currently dont scale too well, so waiting for 2.2 is a good idea. Hopefully we get more Parry to work with to make it worthwhile, same with DET and stuff.

Yeah I'd save your Myth for a secondary class you play (whm?) or keep near cap for 2.2 If you do crafting you'll want your Myth tomes ready to go.

2.2 myth wont buy new gear though... since ilvl is going up 99% sure they will add a new currency to buy the new gear with.

That sucks about your terrible luck with jewelry drops, once you can replace a couple of those with Allagan pieces i would suggest using myth on a Valor Surcoat for sure. Aside from the accuracy, the Allagan body isn't so great :\ so once you can take a hit to your accuracy the Surcoat is BiS.

I see your @473 accuracy which is great. I personally wouldn't spend the myth on paladin since you have other jobs. Where your at in gear is all you really need. That's my opinion at least.

Most of the real upgrades you can do come from Allagan drops (Namely the accesories/belt), spending more Myth isn't going to help you much. Personally I would just gear other jobs.
