I’d like to make two suggestions to make it easier to learn several fight mechanics.
1) Spectator mode
I do not know if this idea is technically doable regarding the lag some already have now but nevertheless I would love to have it.
A spectator mode that allows you to watch a boss fight or Dungeon run without being part of it, providing players with flexible camera views and also the option to choose which of the players you are watching. I check out videos regularly to see if others use a better tactics than I do but often I see the fight from a perspective that’s not mine like for example being a melee DPS but seeing the fight from a range attack DPS or healer’s view. You can learn a lot from good players this way and could see it from your very own perspective.
2) Learning mode
I’d like to see this for all Relic boss fights (Hydra, Chimera, Ifrit, Garuda and Titan) and all other plain boss instances like the Primal ex fights for example.
The learning mode should enable the players to set the speed of the fight. Like decreasing speed to 50% of the regular speed as long as you are not safe with what you are doing or as long as you are unsure what an attack is really doing and to find safe spots you can move to without getting overwhelmed from the fight’s pace.
Additionally, I’d like to see an option where the players can choose the phase of a fight they would like to experience further. I for once still have a problem with the fifth phase of Titan HM because as long as I do not find members of my FC it takes a long time to even find a group that’s able to get through the Heart phase. I can do everything including the Heart phase with ease but lack experience in the last phase of the fight. Being able to start directly in the phase that’s giving you a headache would be neat and reduce the number of attempts you have to go through.
There could also be a God mode where you do not take any damage. This could help players to concentrate on the fight mechanics instead of fearing that one mistake means the end of the run.
The learning mode should not count into your character progression or quest completion. It is just a learning ground where you can obtain the experience you need. So if you beat Titan for example, it’s nice for your Ego but you don’t get a Relic weapon for surviving the learning mode.

I like this suggestion a lot.
The spectator could be active in the dungeon but not visible to mobs and immune from all actions. They could be invisible or ghosted to the party to avoid distracting them. They would see all party chat but the leader could choose to allow them to post in chat or not (also because of distraction). The spectator could then be learning, teaching, filming, etc. -

But having someone that could help from outside the group I don't think they would allow it.
Even if no in-game chat for the spectator, have someone on voice that could call for phases, warn people etc...not game breaking but clearly an advantage.
I am not against it, just I don't think they will do it.
As for learning/god mode, the fear itself should be enough (yeah hydra pun intended :) ) Try and retry is the learning process.
If there was the death penalties from ancient mmos, I would say why not. -

Even if ideal for a user, for developers it's going to the trouble of using extra time and resources for something that can already be done unofficially. There are countless YouTube videos showing the point of view you need for any fight you want to watch. There are even live video feeds on twitch for observation too.

Some kind of spectator mode would be fun and useful - but purely in a passive way. No intereaction should be allowed.
Learning mode is already in the game and it's called trial and error. Plus there's always YouTube or Twitch when you wanna learn things. -

That being said, I wouldn't mind having it implemented in PvP (if it ever becomes more exciting to watch..)
Learning/God Mode: They already have Story Mode, Hard Mode, and Extreme for primals. While not quite the same thing, you still get a feel for the fight. They just tweak and add actions. PUGs are really where it's at for learning and you do see them in PF. PUGs+vids+forum discussion (that is what forums are for, right? strat discussion and suggestion??? anyone?) should be sufficient.
Of course, this mode is entirely appropriate in music/rhythm games :P -

The only difference is the person calling out the abilities is doing the fighting as well. If anything what they can do is allow spectating with a delay of 30 seconds.
