PVP gear min / max (penta melting)

Hi guys, im at work and i cant open any ff14 site except these,

could you guys give some pointers please.

Questions i got:
- on ilvl 90 gear (i.e. smn), what should i melt in? i know theres a cap but how does this cap work? I.e. if i put 3 x crit+9 in it, can i then also put 2 x i.e. 2x determin+6 in it?
Or is the cap based on total stats added?

- How does crit(rank4 is +9) work vs det (rank 4 is +6) is there a hard cap?

- Can i read about this or is there a straight anwser on how to materia for smn in ilvl 90 gear.

- Is there a budget way to do this?

Det seems to be capped at 90% of your main stat on the pvp gears at least. Say your chest has 20 int you could put 18 det on it with materia (unless the piece already has determination). If it already has 10 det you could add 8 more.
Critwise i think gloves boots and helm can take 15 crit rating, chest 25. (on the ilvl70)

Basically it depends on how much of your main stat is on a piece. I believe the stats already on the pvp item are capped, so if it has det you add crit and vice versa.
I'm not sure on how many pvp CC resistance materia are needed to cap the effects unfortunately.

Keep in mind im nowhere near r30 so havent bothered given it that much testing yet.

So i.e. item has: 20 crit, i could put 3 x 6 det in and also i.e. 2 x quick cast and 1 x i.e. mind or piety?

18 det
18 cast speed
X whatever stat as last slot?

No, Crit is a secondary stat. It depends on how much Int your piece has, which is a primary stat. Every piece should follow the same rules, you just need to figure those out and the best way is seeing the connection between INT/MIND/STR and the stat you want to slot. Or you can trail-and-error, if you go over the cap the stat gained will be shown in red.

My ilvl70 boots have +9 crit then +7 in red, so its 9 + 6 which is 15 crit. They have 12 STR. So it looks like crit can go 25-30% above your main stat.
My chest has 20 STR but comes with 18 determination. I can assume that it is capped just like HQ crafted gear, so det cap is 90% of main stat. I should then be able to add 25 crit to my chest, which i think i might just try out today for the heck of it.

P.S it does round up. My belt has 9 STR but 12 crit, which comes out to 30% because it cant do 25%.

So i..w how would i max out a piece with 20 int, 20 crit 20 morale

Weapon - Crit/SkSpd/CsSpd/Acc = 37 ; Det = 25
Chest/Leg - Crit/SkSpd/CsSpd/Acc = 34 ; Det = 24
Glove/Head/Boots - Crit/SkSpd/CsSpd/Acc = 21 ; Det = 15
Belt - Crit/SkSpd/CsSpd/Acc = 16 ; Det = 11/12?

What about attributes? i.e. i can think of reasons why people would add piety or something. Any numbers on that?

And tane, how does it mix with multiple stat.. i.e glove with 15 det and.. X other things?

Your normal gear comes with Stat capped for all available stat. Crossing stat which is silly will only have 75% potency. Aka putting STR/DEX in DoM gear. Piety if I'm not mistaken is only 80% of the DoM INT/MND, never tried on DoW. Then again you'd hardly want to put Piety in as there are other farm more potent Sub-stats for healers.

Pick and choose from the numbers I gave above. Where would you prefer more Spell speed, Crit or Determination. For Meld chances for Tier 4 materia is 22% for 3rd slot, 12-16% for 4th Slot, 3-6% for 5th Slot. Good luck getting them all in~

Do I need to meld ACC to PvP gears? what's the soft cap of ACC in PvP for meele?

I haven't personally done the test for Level 50 but someone did. I think it was mr. bbt which states that it is around 359 (Double check I didn't memorize it) For 40 bracket. As a MRD since from your previous post. Your MRD weapon itself has an innate 15 ACC which is more than enough bar being Blinded.

I didn't meld any accuracy in my pvp gear and I usually dont miss

What about materia resist +2 ?
