Will be probably be possible with 2.2 :D
So Event--->can't store them ---> Patch --->Can store them ^_^
Greetings,
In patch 2.2 we will be making it so you can store various Heavensturn kabuto, the Dragon Quest collaboration's Thug's Mug, and other event items in your Armoire.
Would it be at all possible to build this functionality in with the same patches that introduced the resources themselves? I'm really not sure why it's always a matter of release, then wait for another patch months down the road for the opportunity to store the stuff. If there are concerns with how large the Armoire is getting in terms of storage or memory or some such, all that can be easily taken into consideration when the items are finalized.
In FFXI event items were only able to be stored in the update after said event. It was always a bit of a pain, and continues to be so in FFXIV. Would love to see same patch storage for seasonal events.
I hate answers of 'just because' so I thought about this for a few. One of the reasons I can see them not letting your store it till the event is done is so that it gives people a reason to keep it on them and in use during the event. I tend to run around with the item until its able to be stored away permanently. Not saying its the only reason or even a good one. But to keep the event from being forgotten about after getting the loots I can see this being done on purpose and for this reason.
I think it's because they want people to use the event items during the event.
If it's such a huge issue for many of you to store the item the moment you get it, and never take it back out - why don't you just not do the event?
Hardly something to get so upset about. The whole 4 inventory slots out of 500 or so (plus armory chest) is pretty damn trivial.
Just drop that few pieces of "Rock Salt" you have on a retainer somewhere.
If you don't have the space to carry 4x event items, then it's pretty much saying that your inventory needs some TLC.
Wouldn't it be easier and make the armoire like your retainer and put anything in it?
When I decide I want to put some oatmeal cookies in my cookie jar, the jar doesn't say no those are not allowed, you an only store chocolate chip one's inside me.
The better way of doing it, would be , during the event if you get the gear spirt bounded to 100% then you would be allowed to store it. During the event. This way more people will wear the gear while spirt bounding the gear during the event. After the event is over you then can store it with out 100% spirt bound. Also once you store it. Then it resets it back to zero. Guess that might be to trivial.
It doesn't make a lot of sense to me either why they wait to allow storage of equipment until it has been around for awhile. The argument they want to make people use the gear is rather invalid as well, usually as soon as I get the equipment I wear it for a little while and then promptly leave it in my Armoury Chest until I need space and then dump it on my retainer. This is what I tend to do with any gear I don't really use or plan to use until later, it gets dumped in my retainer or storage, even in FFXI I dumped that kind of stuff in my Mog Safe and it stayed there until I either needed more space and threw it away or wanted to use it again.
So I doubt their reasoning is "to make people wear the equipment" as if anyone really wanted to wear it they would instead of just ditching it somewhere. Especially considering since most seasonal equipment is obtainable again the next year.
Because not being able to store an item in the Armoire will miraculously make us want to wear it? Seriously guys.... What the LOL ??? Those of us who want to wear the items on our chars do so - those of us who don't just dump it on our retainers. It really is as simple as that.
Agree with overall discussion. Plus...
Why relics cannot be stored while DoH/DoL lvl 50+ tools are able to be stored in armoire?
As a collector of things, I'd just like to tag on here a question.
Will we be able to store weapon drops from primals eventually? I'm sorely out geared for my Ifrit weapons and the like but I love the look of them and would rather not toss them away and with yet another primal on the horizon, that would make a total of 45 different primal weapons (not counting shields!) alone. That's a lot of inventory space.
