Please make Sustain remove debuffs

At least for SMN, I've had some instances where if Garuda gets hit with a nasty debuff, I have to sit there and just watch her die as there's no way I can remove it.

2 examples of these that I have found are Garuda EX from the Windburn debuff that happens when the small and very fast circles of AoE come down (which isextremely annoying since there's almost no way to avoid her getting hit with the attack if it decides to land), and the line fire attack used by the third ADS orb during Turn 2.

Currently the best way to remedy the situation is to resummon when the Egi dies, but with the MP cost what it is (and the time necessary if Swiftcast isn't up) it's not a very attractive solution.

On scholar, I don't find it to be nearly as bad since you can just use Leeches on Eos and can remove her debuffs far more easily.

Also, I understand that for pvp reasons this could cause an imbalance, but this thread is strictly directed towards some of the PvE encounters.

Why not just make pets invulnerable? Or you know, you can control your pet so it doesn't get hit in the first place.

The Garuda EX feathers drop in about a second. There's literally no time to move Garuda out of the way. Although since I'm usually not using shadow flares for Garuda I tend to have swift up to resummon her

Garuda jumps after a fixed period of time. If you know she's going to jump soon, just move away from her and heel. There's really no reason for you or your egi to get hit by the feathers since both you and your egi (assuming you use Garuda-egi, which you should be) are ranged. Even if for any reason the egi get hits by one, just sustain immediately and it'll survive. If you let it get hit by 2 or more feathers, then it really is your fault.

I do that already. However, in this case it makes the pet a handicap vs an asset which kind of defeats the purpose of the class entirely. It's a bad design decision to make it so that not only do I have to move out of something but I also have to babysit something else. I'm fine with making them immune to the effects or at least getting a much lower damage version, that would also alleviate the issue at hand.

Smn has the added complexity of managing a pet(not very complex) just bind move to a key and while you are casting a spell move her away from the boss.

Yes, you can avoid windburn on pets by moving them preemptively, but it's not always so easy for other mechanics such as firestream or any other future fights with dot mechanics they might add. Pets have a huge vulnerability against dot mechanics, in the same way as they would have a vulnerability to aoe if they took full damage from them. A dot on garuda is almost assuredly a death sentence for her, unless you're lucky enough that one of the healers esuna her which is unlikely considering she doesn't even show up on the party frame.

They need an extra defense against dot, just like they have one for aoe. I think sustain removing debuffs is a good idea, considering you can't ever expect a healer to properly do it themselves. Having them take reduced damage from dot would be another possibility, enough that you can actually keep them alive by casting sustain on them.

Most definitely add pets to the party frame.

And don't make the argument of having to manage your pet when casting a spell on it to remove a debuff from it is exactly just that, managing it.

So should they just make the pets invulnerable? If not, why not?

Invulnerable pets would be fine as well, or take extremely reduced damage that would be at least manageable by Sustain.

I had suggested that Sustain remove debuffs because it would at least add a worthwhile choice to a battle. I don't advocate making things easier or less challenging, but I do advocate making something less annoying.
