So who else want SE to introduce Sashimi and Sushi as new Culinarian crafts?
Have them as new 3 Star Culinarian crafts because only skilled chefs can cut a fine Sashimi and make fine Sushi.
The theme of 2.2 is Maelstrom after all. :p

how about we make 2 star food useful before we make another recipe set useless
you mean the fact that 1 star and 2 star food give the same % bonus increase as normal tier foods?
Only they will ever increase is that higher tier foods will allow people to get more stat bonus than lower level foods.
Unless they decide to make 2 star foods give 8 - 10% stat bonuses I doubt we will see anything near that until 3 star or lvl 51 - 60 crafts are released.
This will probably be introduced when Far East jobs are introduced
nah, current 2 star food just doesn't worth investing on at all. It require Cluster to craft, and expensive ingredient. the effect is still 30 min, and the stat barely better than food that is multiple times cheaper.
How about a fugu recipe .. insane stat bonuses, but it might poison you too .. it all depends on the skill of the CLN and even they won't know until you try it...
I'd just be happy to see food that's worth using, I mean I know it's better to have +10 Vit that not if you're tanking but I think food is about right if it's equal to an extra gear slot. If top level gear is giving +30 INT then the best food should give about that too, in addition to stuff like determination or accuracy.
Also, food that lasts an hour or more would be nice, 3-4 is more than sensible so a max of 30 minutes is crazy to me.
I bet leviathan sushi will taste great!
I talk about this everyday, how I want sushi or sashimi type foods, I would love more Asian inspired things, a Far East expansion would be awesome. As far as I can tell from fishing right now, we're like Europe, there's a near east (Middle Eastern, Indian type place I'm assuming), and a Far East (Asian in the American sense and not the English sense). Oh and also a New World (Colonial America I'm sensing), this to me also makes Sharlayans the nicest Vikings ever...^^ But anyway before I go off on real world compared to game world, food does need to be revamped, but that being said, that doesn't mean I don't want to see varying types of food. Right now the amount of food we have is rather limited, I would love to see an expansion to the types of food we can make, what they look like, what they do, etc.
I want baklava!
requires you to find a map first.

Want my sole sushi
Since when did 5% = 4%? Do you even math? Take crit food for example. To get the max bonus out of HQ Deviled Eggs, you need 480 crit. To get that same amount from HQ Apkallu Omlette, you need 600 crit. Then you need even more crit to cap it. Most people can't use 2 star foods effectively. 3 star foods, unless they follow current convention and are for DoL/DoH, would be useless.
Anyways, I'll all for serving up sushi and sashimi.
I like the idea of anything involving seafood or eggs, have a certain low random chance of inducing food poisoning. Just because :)
I'd wait for the far east expansion that comes with the Ninja and Samurai class.
Who said we will have to wait for Far East Expansion for them?
Don't forget Job Trainers are not bound to their home city-state.
Warrior Job Trainer, for example, comes from Abalathia's Spine which is a Volcanic land area we will not see in a while but he is in La Noscea for person reasons explained in the Warrior Job Storyline.
Both Samurai Trainer and Ninja Trainer can appear in Eorzea for their own personal reasons as well which most likely will be linked to their Job Storyline.
Samurai Trainer could be one of those wandering Samurai having the SAM Job Story being about the life as a Samurai and finding your own Bushido ("Way of the Warrior") while helping the Samurai Trainer regain his Bushido.
Ninja Trainer could either be a Ninja outcast or in Eorzea to trackdown a traitor to the Ninja clan he or she is in.

Let us also have some Sashimi and Sushi plates for housing items to be placed in Housing.
Can you imaging the faces of people drooling over something like this in your own house.
