There will be people complaining, anyway.

Nobody can say anymore that SE isn't listening. It was a false statement anyway. But this community tends to be kind of dense.

SE please remove lockout from T6 - T9. This game is boring.

Every party on PF is going to be i90 average.

I wouldn't be surprised if i90 would be the minimum requirement for the next wing of Coil. Which would make sense and not be a problem if "everbody is i90" (Which is not correct anyway since it will still take time and luck to get the items you want from Coil)

I don't know why everyone thinks this is such a big deal, it's going to be "outdated" content so it's common sense that they would do this. The same lockouts will still be on new turns and anyone who is going to be doing it will already be i90.

Question, by removing lock out, does this mean you can keep doing 1-5 to farm for equips until you are fully equipped in 1 day(if you have energy to do so) or will it be like CT whereas there's no lockout but can only loot 1 item a week?

They're just going to cap the next turns. I just hope they'll lower it from a week to 3 days or have a token system like 1.23 garuda or something. Random drops plus weekly lockout is such a horrible idea. My bro has been doing coils as a healer weekly since september and hasn't even seen the allagan hands of healing once. That's brutal.

If 2.2 is just "Same crappy things you were already doing, but now you're starting all over!" then I dunno about this game anymore. ESO comes out around then, right...? >_>

While I'm all for the idea, I wonder what they're going to do for Turn 1. Turns 2, 4, and 5 are pretty much just the encounter fights but Turn 1 has the ADS sub boss and then the mob pulls and finally the boss. Would be nice for farming purposes if they got rid of that to make things even on a turn by turn basis for DF.

A bit glad they are removing the lockout, I'm probably the only person I know who enjoys the CAD fight lol. I guess the question is, will there be any changes to ADS in T2? I'm assuming that's going to be the most popular one. T2 spam, then probably back to T1(to farm gear that's been eluding players for weeks), then T4 and T5, I doubt anyone will do T3, lol.

Just throwing this out there as some food for thought:

If there's no lockout on Coil 1-5 ala CT (or any other kind of lockout), what would be the point in doing CT at all? You could farm Coil and gear every job you've got in full i90, no need for i80 gear.

I'm willing to bet there is still going to be a Lockout, It just says remove the weekly lockout. Probably will be 72hrs.

It's a never-ending cycle. I guess this is what people want these days, as no one cares about making anything that lasts anymore, be it a TV, Car, or content in a game. Just keep throwing time and money away on the next new shiny as a new one comes out soon after the last.

With no lockout on Allagan gear. CT will be negated as of patch 2.2

Not to mention if they're lowering the difficulty, removing the lockouts and adding Turns 1-5 to the DF then they're probably going to drastically reduce the amount of Mytho Tomes they give which would still provide a "point" to doing Labyrinth of the Ancients. Then again, maybe they won't considering they're removing the cap on Mytho Tomes and adding a new type of Allagan Tomestones. Who knows really.

All in all this sounds much better than the way WoW is doing it.

Every time they release new raid content, they also give all the players free/easy to get gear that lets them go into the new raids as soon as they hit the level cap. If you play WoW now the raid tiers for this expansion are Tier 14, 15, an 16. But if you get to level 90, you don't even have to do tier 14 and 15. All the gear from those 2 tiers is useless because you can get gear that lets you skip straight to tier 16 very easily.

You're forgetting something. New players can enter CT as soon as they hit level 50, but Coil will most likely require an item level of 70+ to enter.

So new players will be stuck doing CT for a few weeks, before even being able to attempt to get coil 1-5 gear.

With Coil 1-5 being no weekly lockout ( and having the better loot than CT) wouldn't be logical to remove CT loot lockout as well? Because if it stays the same for CT no one will do CT because Coil 1-5 has no restrictions.

First off not everyone will have enough gear for Coil, fresh 50s will have to do dungeons and CT before they have enough gear for coil.

And it's likely still going to be 1 drop per week, same as CT. So it will still take many weeks to get all the coil drops.

And there will be a new tomestone token that will get you better gear than coil anyway.

And people will still do CT for vanity sets.

And the list goes on.

Did I miss the part where Yoshi said they are removing the Myth cap?

They won't be putting a cap on how much gear you can get from Coil/week, as there isn't one now.
You can do turns 1-5 and get every single drop.

I'm not certain how they're going to deal with the issue of CT suddenly becoming obsolete as a result of T1-T5 being more available now.

A smart solution would be to release a third tier of gear that is above both Coil T1-T5 and CT gear, that requires both.

For example: AF2 BLM Body - requires Wizard's body, sorcerer's body, Crimson Body, Allagan body of casting + new allagan tomestone currency - you get an i-lvl 100 AF2 Body as a reward. Allagan t6-t9 drops can be i-lvl 105.

Its a good way of tying all content together and making nothing obsolete, while still allowing progression and at the same time eliminating the isolation of newer players. As veteran, even hardcore players, will need to go back to old content to advance.

If they are removing Coil lock out (T1-5) then is makes sense to assume they are removing the cap on all old content

No more CT cap, Myth cap and EX primal cap

+1 All your relics, Max out all your myth, Farm Coil to the ground. All jobs i90 with Allagan weapon and go ham on T6 coil and Levi

Basically

Edit: I believe they are releasing a new Relic set (that can be purchased with a new currency similar to myth/philo) same concept as we have now with Myth gear and allagan gear

The only way for SE to handle it is to raise ilvl requirements for all content. Its not like it would be hard to do, It will just take players a lil bit more time to gear up which they should be doing anyways. They don't need to adjust the difficulty of content just make the ilvl higher.
