Announcing A Contest! Just For Coeurl!

Radio Station has been brought down. There is no contest anymore as, I have no radio show to be able to do so. It's tough on me as, it was something I looked forward to everyday.

I've added a bit more details mostly the important part is the show times.

I've got sad news. I just got an email saying that the radio station will be closed down. I'm sorry but, there will be no contest as, there is no radio station anymore.

Oh no! Did they give an official reason why? Licensing? Funding? Listeners? Devo.. I enjoyed listening in!

Not enough listeners, which caused no funds, which caused it to cost too much. Which I know is BS honestly. All I know is, right now, I'm pretty depressed. It was the one thing I looked forward to everyday. WIthout it, I feel pretty shitty and useless.

Also, he said that whenever he tried to advertise about it, SE would shut him down and delete his posts. Which, once again, here I am talking about it and I don't get deleted...

Have you considered running your own via icecast2 using winamp and the streaming format addon? Something to consider

I think with proper promotion and time, it could have kicked off really well. Maybe it is something I will look into in the future

I don't have money myself. I don't think I can do it myself. I'll look into it and see if I can't get my own server/station. But...I don't think I can. My days of DJing might be over....great now I feel like crying. My biggest passion is gone...time to do mindless grind. Get my mind clear.

Icecast is free broadcasting since it is not an actual site, live stream radio via media players. I suggest this because it is a nice little temporary fix until something more permanent and proper can be arranged. If your internet isnt the greatest or you want to be able to run the stream via its own site, you can always go for something like myradiostream.com who offer free hosting in exchange for ads placed only on the site used to promote the stream, not actually IN the stream.

THanks Lasse. I'll be looking into it probably all day. This is just something I can't give up. It made me happy in ways I haven't been in almost 16 years.

I'm going to look more into the link you gave me Lasse. I might be able to do a lot more for the community as well. And I won't be limited. It might be better this way. We'll see. I hope I can turn this around. For my mental health's sake.

No problem, I took the liberty of searching relevant information for you that has links and step by step instructions on how to completely set up your own. Give it a read through here when you have the time, I don't think it will be too hard to set one up yourself and like you said, you wont be limited at all.

If you were actuallyon somewhere I can actually talk and not spam the forums, I could talk. I'm looking into the licensing. Which is the biggest problem.

Licensing rules are pretty basic and easily abided by, however, I am in game right now if you want to chat

Yes. I don't know to what extent I can talk about, but, we are working on something amazing with Dermet being the head of the force. I'm working together to an extent with him(sending him feedback with my little knowledge so far) and we hope to bring something amazing to Coeurl that should give us all someplace to turn to.

Also, I think I might start streaming(if my computer allows it) myself just for some kicks. Some of my runs with my friends and such can get pretty weird(one time we fought Thantos acting like British people...well I thought it was funny as we tried to mock him in British accents), but I also don't want to step on Dermet's toes too much with that and, if I do what I would like to do with Dermet, I might not have enough time. We shall see.


UPDATE!
With Dermet and co. working on something this contest could still swing open, but this time with Time Cards being added for us(I need to look if I can actually do it for others if not it will still be UGC) that will be the prize instead. If this does work, I'm hoping to bring people to the dark side and the GRAND OPENING of this will BE THIS EVENT! I hope. I still have to hash out all things with said co.
