More Health For a Little Tank like Me?

Hello, my main role is a tank, i love it because i get to help people alot and everytime i help i feel good ^_^ But what has been bothering me is that, in recent dungeons, I get kicked out because i have to low of health. They say im a squish lalafell. Like just recently i was "Out Tanked" by a paladin, i know they are in-game tanks, and i think they are pretty good :D but i was wondering is how the heck do they have 7k and up hp?!? I only have 4k and with warrior and defiance lol. Any tips on becoming a better tank? Im still new to the game so i need veteran advice. My hunch is its a cross class but i do not know much. Please Help Thanks in advance :D

There's like 6 Vit points difference between a Lala and a Roe so I don't think your race is the problem :)

You need to be farming philosophy/myth tomes now you've got your AF gear. Myth gear is ilv90 and you'll get a lot more Vit out of it once you have a few pieces. For now consider removing those INT and STR accesories, they aren't doing you any favours.

Start packing nutritional supplements. Finger Sandwiches if you're wealthy; La Noscean Toast if you're only moderately well-off :)

4k hp as a warrior is really low. Do some WP/AK and the HM dungeons to get some gear upgrades while you grind for tomes. Getting new stuff takes away from the grind quite a bit, and every drop will likely have more VIT than whatever you're wearing now. Vitality is all you need to increase you hp.

looking at ur gear, thats all it is. if you have another class up then farm some philo with it. if not, then try the daily main scenario roulette. thats a good source of philosophy items, and you use those as currency for your entry level gear, and part of your relic weapon quest. The first time the gear progression is tough but it gets better :P

I couldn't really tell from your stats, but did you also put all of your attribute points into vitality? A lot of healers don't like Wars because they take a lot of damage, especially if the war or healer don't know their role well. Aside from coil, PLD=Ez mode tank and healing a PLD=Ez mode heals. Other than that, gear and food will help you out like everyone else says. Good luck!

You should not be eating such high tier food until you're able to maximize the bennefits. Full Darklight and above should suffice for Toast, but even Finger Sandwiches are a waste (given you can't max out all of the stat boosts) until you're in the mid to high i80s and even then you're still losing some of the bennefit.

Some recommendations as a fellow Lalafell Warrior:

1.) You're currently wearing bad accessories for a tank. For example, your rings give INT which do nothing for you. What you want to do is go to the marketboard and find HQ Amber accessories (Amber Ring, Amber Choker, etc. (make sure to get the ones without Wolf at the beginning as those are for PVP)).
2.) Once you have proper accessories, run Wanderer's Palace for gear and Ifrit HM for an upgraded weapon. Once you have gear from Wanderer's Palace as well as a piece or two of Darklight gear, head into Amdapor Keep. You can also attempt Crystal Tower at this point if you meet the ilvl requirement, which will give you ilvl 80 pieces on top of the Philosophy and Mythology you'll be getting to get even more gear. From then on, as you get more and more Darklight, you'll be doing Garuda HM, Haukke Manor HM, Copperbell HM, and (eventually) Pharos Sirius. Then, once you're in mostly Darklight, you'll move onto Titan where you'll have lots of fun watching your parties wipe over and over and be unable to help them. So look forward to that! :D
3.) Once you get enough Myth (should be 1 week cap), make sure to get Hero's Ring of Fending. It's one of your best upgrades for Myth at a very small cost. Well worth it, even if you plan to +1 your Relic when you get it (which I'm nearly full i90 and still haven't done).
4.) Don't let anyone tell you you can't tank content you're appropriately geared for. In full AF with HQ Amber you can tank Wanderer's Palace with ease, as well as Amdapor Keep as long as your DPS are decently geared to beat the Wall.

Just keep having fun and eventually you'll have 8k+ HP like me and many other Lalafell Warriors, including us that see Roeg's with 9k and dream of the day when 2.2 is released and we'll be able to experience that as well. ; _ ;

As people have said it's your gear. Concentrate on VIT gear and you'll be fine :)

Only thing that bugs me with being a Lalafell PLD is that I get to 6980 hp with food at i90 while the other thank in my static breaks 7k :(

It's your inferior Lala vit :P which you know, but I love to tease lalas.

If you've been putting your optional points into something other than VIT, you could spend the 10,000 seals to switch them over.

30 VIT is (I think) 435 health at level 50, so 544 with your +HP buff up.

Very smashing advice given, very detailed. Only thing I want to point out is that AK has been nerfed into the ground, and I would not put it's difficulty past WP by more than a hair. Even the wall. And it only gives the same level of gear as WP now as well.

I think it's as others said, it may be more gear choice and possibly stat allocation at this point. Lalafell HP difference should be no more than 90 HP at the extreme if in the same gear with the same allocation.

on a side note- (this has nothing to do with HP), but I recommend getting gladiator to Lvl 22 for Provoke. Provoke helps under geared tanks compete with over geared DPS.

Anything that can help you shine will help you keep your raid/party spot. Granted like everyone pointed out, you definitely need to get better gear. (It doesn't much to get over 4k unbuffed with vit accessories.)
