What exactly does this have to do with enemies' ability to receive cures or smn's ability to res in pvp? Nothing.
Ifrit HM is basically 99% avoidable damage other than the tank and as long as they could build LB3 before nails all this means is these 2 know how to dodge, and the tank is well-geared.
Yeah.... It's great that SMN is already kind of like "Oh you're a SMN, I rather a BLM" class already, soooo.. let's nerf them. If SMN can manage a 3 man on Garuda and Titan HM, sure, but those mechanics are way more hardcore than stupid Ifrit.. lol
God, I don't understand SE at all -- First they make their game issues server side so you can't just.. you know.. have no problems on client side like any other stupid MMO... LK:DSMFKLDMNF Now a nerf to a class (That I just level'd and enjoy. btw.. less than a week and a half old) SMN are already told they're trash DPS in comparison to MNK and BLM by parsers. Lol GG
Summoner got nerfed but imo they are still in a fine spot I don't think they are worse than BLM on parser.
Interesting vid, watched the whole thing XD. But it seemed more like a Scholar turned Summoner(maybe for relic purposes?), 600+ physicks and 900-1200 crit? My summoner crit physick, at best, is around 500-630 and thats being generous with my numbers lol, Unless the stat build and gear setup was awesome. I don't really know the math and numbers behind so I can't say for sure, but it was impressive, I love limited party kills, but it always makes me feel a bit derp, when you're in full parties who still can't complete it lol.
You're an idiot. Did you even read the patch notes? They nerfed them in PVP, any changes are irrelevant in current endgame PVE (and all PVE before that, tbh).
And if a SMN is getting outdamaged by a BLM, they're really bad at their job. SMN is still top ranged DPS.
She's not saying she does bad; she's saying she's been told the job is trash. I've heard it too. Doesn't mean they're right, but a nerf to a job that already had a bad rep can't be good.
Thing is, the nerf doesn't really affect PvE, and the job isn't trash. Just other people are stupid about it. And she's just saying this potentially gives those stupid people more things to misinterpret and be stupid about.
I fail to see how a video where 99% of the casts are Physick, is a viable comparison to argue class balance on such an absurdly simple boss. Ifrit HM is a joke /thread

SMN has the highest single target dps after MNK, and the latest nerf doesn't affect PvE at all...
This video was taken when SMN still had Thunder... that was even before the 2.1 nerf...
Anyway, this fight was easy to duo because...
1) Almost all of the mechanics for the entire party are avoidable, minus what the tank must eat. I'm pretty sure the SMN just ran and preemptively stood wherever they needed to be (especially for plumes) so they never had to adjust...
2) Casters only need to LB3 nails... that's it, no added damage needed.
I'm wondering if the SMN specifically slotted knowing they would need lots of physick power (possibly mind?), because it seems they are spending most of their time spamming that. Their vitality is pretty low, and their gear looks crafted... not even vanya gear either.
Anyway, I'm not entirely sure if this would be possible now as you can't reliably interrupt eruption, and dodging may cost the summoner precious time that would have otherwise been spent spam-healing the tank.
That said... gear is much better now. It's entirely possible that this could be EASIER (even without thunder).
You could argue that the first nerf (when 2.1 hit) was aimed at nerfing our damage in PvE... I mean, they took away thunder and gave us Blizzard II. Blizzard II is 'nice' but I would have rather had Thunder... The more recent 'nerf' to Miasma is clearly meant to nerf us in PvP.
A. He probably had all MND accessories equipped as well as all crafted with MND slotted to improve his heals. At i86 with Allagan Book, my Physick is 450~ with 650~ crits, putting on all Allagan/Hero Healing Accessories, Physick is 550~ and 850~ crits. That is with 30 points in MND since Ive been playing with SCH recently, so he has to have 30 points in MND, with all Healing Accessories, and MND slotted gear to heal that much.
B. All these people whining about nerf...I have never been out parsed on SMN, it's a beast. My BLM, BRD, and SMN are all i86, I play them all routinely, have done t5 and EX primals on all, my SMN exceeds my BRD and BLM in DPS on all with little effort, and as far as being just behind MNK..maybe if there was a single fight where they could have 100% uptime and never had to break DPS for a moment to move out of anything...but there isn't. I have never seen a Melee DPS come close to any of my ranged in any fight.
Yeah recent nerf was on healing reduction moves, ifrit doesn't use healing i think.
Yeah if you wanted to play SMN healer the only main piece i70+ you could use with MND is rose gold circlet. Rest would have to be i55's except accessories on the right side, unless you wanted to meld MND onto caster gear...
