Observations of a fresh lvl15 THM (SE look inside please)

1. Mog Staff (lightning event weapon), flip it over when held... the underside which' hardly visible has all the cool bells & whistles... you can't see it from above & neither can others, that's no fun!

2. Nightprowler's Targe clips really horribly through the hood of the Acolyte's Robe... please fix. I would recommend swapping the hood out personally (looks dopey) in favor of a stand-up kind of collar (e.g. look at Auron's official art)... or if needed, slightly reduce the size of the Targe & tilt it on the player's back some.

3. Surecast needs some love IMHO (I actually advocate it's use, I think healers underestimate it on average, however I find it generally lackluster). Firstly, your stack shouldn't be consumed on instant-casts (I know this can be prevented, but I think it's silly/poor design). Secondly, give it something more... like permit the player who's surecasting to move-and-cast for the duration (maybe make this the new Surecast trait & fold the old trait into the base action).

I know as I rise in level I will run into many, many more nuisances people have been talking about... so please shout them out & I will attempt to update as able. For instance, I can't wait to become the two-button wonder in raids.

They aren't going to spend the very limited time of their workers fixing a shield that people use for about 6 levels max nor will they spend the time on fixing a weapon. They will concentrate their efforts on new content, weapons and armour etc.

Agree with this management of their time or disagree that's what is going to happen, personally I support making new stuff and leaving trivial things like this until the future when they may have more time on their hands.

It took them about 9 YEARS to fix a notorious graphical clipping glitch in FFXI. By that schedule, you've got about 8.5 to go here. I wouldn't hold my breath if I were you.

Some of the shields are small enough that they don't clip and I think the BLM relic is two-handed so in endgame it won't matter, but I agree that it's annoying.

@Nathan, okay Debbie-downer... except as dev's they should want to fix all clipping issues... not like it's hard to pivot how the targe rests on a player's back.

Also with Vanity coming that will change things.

Are you talking about BLM? It's not quite only 2 buttons, but when you put it that way, your primary class is also capable of being a 2-button wonder. Thanks to the whole stance thing, two macros work out wonderfully for monk as long as you don't spam the button before the next combo is ready. Unfortunately, you're probably also a really bad monk if you play this way, kinda how you're a terrible BLM if you're only casting two spells.

Also, there are feedback and bug forums for bringing up issues like clipping. :P Kinda not sure where the discussion value is in this thread. There are a billion other threads with complaints about various things, which sorta renders one general complaint thread pointless.

1) not complaining, 2) this' a mixed bag of things, 3) it'll ultimately be more of a suggestion compendium/let's talk about THM/BLM issues.

I haven't really played much as a thm, I've only leveled it up to 26 to get swiftcast from it so I can't really speak for thms/blms here.
However, as a White Mage, I completely agree that the skill isn't really that useful as it is right now. Perhaps it's used frequently in PvP, I wouldn't know since I don't PvP at all.

But in PvE, I never ever use it even though I have it on my hotkey bar. The few times where it could have been useful, I usually just find myself casting a Swiftcast + skill (medica/raise/etc).
I tend to save my Swiftcast for those sticky situations where I can't really stay still and do my cast. However, if Surecast would allow me to move and cast, then that would turn it into something really useful. Even if it increased my cast time a bit while I were moving, it would still be useful.

Yeah, I just think Surecast could use some umph... it's just very dull as a one-pop wonder.

1) Sorry, I wasn't saying complaining is necessarily a negative thing. I'll choose my words more carefully next time, as I forget people here are very sensitive.

4) There are lots of general feedback threads on THM/BLM.

23) Clipping is an issue for ALL jobs with various equipment and hairstyles. I haven't played many MMOs without clipping issues regarding hair/equipment/shields/whatever. I wouldn't expect a fix for this any time soon, but I really hope they do fix it since my current hair style clips most body armor in the game. :/

126) I was just suggesting alternative places to post where you might receive some better responses rather than General Chat, where most threads are buried rather quickly unless they're made to incite drama.

Surecast is more useful late into the game, IMHO. It does a great service when you know you're going to get hit by something that will interrupt your cast, which is especially critical in endgame scenarios on dps checks where you need to cast a spell with a long casting time or when cross-classing it to a healer job and knowing in advance you might get interrupted, but need to get a big (group) healing off.

Also, in case you don't know, at THM26 you get Swiftcast, which is Surecast on speed. This allows you to instantly cast the next spell you use, which is essentially even better than being able to cast non-instant spells on the move, and is generally one of the most awesome abilities to cross-class for the other Disciples of Magic.

As a WHM, I would love Surecast if it was a "can move while casting for X duration" cooldown! :O

Yeah, basically like I said--I'm aware it's useful, I meant to put more emphasis on 'lackluster'.

And yes, I'm aware of Swiftcast, I would say it's a practical requirement for any end-game healer... I just think Surecast could use a little something extra for the funsies & to give it that "umph" like I mentioned.

I know how to Surecast like a boss, I just think it'd be fun to give it some extra functionality.

Targe is but one of many clipping issues in the game. Feet clipping through clothes while crafting, feet clipping through robes while running, staves clipping through hoods and hats, hair clipping through hoods, I could keep going. They need to to do a massive overhaul to fix all the clipping issues in this game.

As for surecast, it looks like others have said what needs to be said of it.
