Coil hardcore, crystal tower casual

Am I the only one who didn't put this together? I know a lot of people think CT is a stepping stone for coil. I think it's a casuals raid. Maybe sqee has more sense than I thought. Give the casuals crystal tower to challenge them and give them loot. And give hard cores coil, for the best gear and content. I mean it makes sense the difficulty level makes sense. I'm not saying coil is hard but your average player cannot imagine doing something as intricate as turn 4. I guess I must be slow to the train but I thought I would share what I think sqee is doing for people who may be didn't know or didn't think about it this way.

Casuals routinely get to turn 4... so yeah... 4 and beyond are harder, but there is no hard core content in this game currently... this isn't really even a hard core game.

There are probably "hard core" people in Hello Kitty... but comparatively, this is a casual MMO... so the hard cores are the hard cores of a casual game.

I think CT is only casual while SE finishes up the Alliance system to be fully implemented. As soon as it's possible to challenge the content with a full group of 24, I'd expect the difficulty to rise as well (obviously with newly added areas). It's also expected that Turns 1-5 of Coil will soon become casual once they include the echo buff towards it.

You are actually right on both accounts.

CT is meant to be a more casual friendly raid. But it IS also meant to be a stepping stone for Coil. CT was supposed to gear you up for Coil, but they didn't have it finished in time for launch.

As for Coil, it's not just harder, it's actually overtuned. T5 especially is insanely hard on purpose. Yoshida explained his raid plans before launch. The highest level raid content is meant to be insanely hard to challenge the hardcore players. But as higher content is added, they will be tuning down the old content to make it more accessible to less skilled players.

There will always be something crazy hard at the top, but don't expect T1-T5 to stay the way it is today. 2.2 will be adding higher level coil.

Coil is pretty casual. You can complete 1-4 in less than an hour.
I don't even know if you can call them raids since there's really not much substance besides bosses.

Gearing up casuals that probably doesn't do research for what they need to be ready for coil with gear that doesn't have acc?

Just because something is easy doesn't mean it's casual. Do you think only casuals run CT? Lots of people who run coil also run CT for fun or to gear up alts or for quick myths.

CT is easy because it's content that SE wants everyone to access. Coil is hard and something that only a small percentage of the playerbase will ever access, by design.

The structure of CT and Coil alone should give some clues. You can DF CT. Accordingly, it's more PUG-friendly/accessible. You cannot DF Coil. In other words, at least, SOME form of organization is required (if only to create a semi-logical party, job wise).

Coil sure is hardcore, just look at the Turn 2 Enrage "strategy".

I suppose someone out there didn't know, but I was under the impression that Yoshi-P pretty much said this was the plan. This is the reason Crystal Tower is Duty Finder content and the Coil isn't.

Did this for the first time the other night after months of doing it the normal way in previous statics I were in. I wouldn't be lying if I told you I felt really dirty for completing it that way.

But seriously nothing we can do but deal with it sadly.

But if you take trolls for what they are... a joke and entertainment, they can be really fun to see them act like imbeciles. For morons, well that one is hard... Just tolerate them? And pray they get a clue?
