Monk and Dragoon Drops In Crystal Tower....

This is honestly absurd and really needs to be looked at. I had to run about 25 CT runs last week to get a single piece of healing gear, and this week I have ran five so far and only seen one tank piece and zero healing pieces. It's a complete joke that the two melee classes has a 90% drop chance on every boss in the place. If nothing Else why mot make a boss drop all the healer stuff, one drop tank, and the other two split dps drops. I mean that way you could see a healer item in under 30 hours...

I'm so sick of CT that I will opt out after the first two bosses if I don't get the item I'm looking for. I would literally much rather stare at the 30 minute ban timer than do a full ct run at this point. When CT first came out I had a major problem with bard gear dropping at every single, now it's always either dragoon or bard with monk at a close third. I've done nine runs this week and so far I've been able to predict which class' item will drop from each chest, because it's always dragoon from the first two chests, bard from the third, and I don't even look at the last chest, I just leave because I know the items I'm looking for don't drop from it.I've done well over a hundred CT runs since the dungeon was released and I've gotten five pieces of gear out of it. At this point I honestly hope the dev who thought making you run the same dungeon 20 times a week for a chance at getting one drop gets fired, or the team of devs if that's the case. There's a fine line between extending the life of a game by adding grinding, and making the players want to quit because they're sick of grinding for no reward. Some might argue "you get myth tomes" but you only get myth tomes for the first nine runs, it took me twenty eight to get my pants. "You get philo tomes" I don't need philo tomes, I can't use them to get any better gear than what I've got and half the time I end up wasting them on pointless entertainment. What I do get out of CT is a nice repair bill and the desire to quit the game because I'm sick of being able to predict what items are going to drop and knowing they're not items I can even use.

Took me about 15 runs for my fuma feet. :(

I finally got Bard body after I gave up on Bard body. Skipped like 3 weeks looking specifically for BLM or BRD body. Now that I want BLM or MNK body... "Oh look at what I just got"

Haven't seen MNK chest drop. Ever.

This is why I don't look for only a specific piece of gear. There is a 1/36 chance that you will get it per boss and you piece only drops from a specific boss. Therefore if you run CT not knowing which boss it comes from then its a 1/144 chance of getting what you want. Since i don't know where every piece come from, i run CT twice to try and get my most desired item. after that i increase it to gear from 3 different classes. i cut out the pieces i already have and the one next one that i plan on getting myth for. other than that i leave it open since my Mains(both Tanks) are i87.All i need for them is two allagan accessories. my alt(monk) is getting myth now, so BLM, WHM, and DRG are getting CT gear. Being open like this makes things less frustrating. This is an MMO and getting max gear lvl in this game takes a fraction of the time and grinding that most MMOs do. Ask anyone who played FFXI.
The RNG affects ppl differently. For me, all i saw was bard and blm gear(until i wanted it) now i see tank gear all the time.
You need to be patient and be thankful that you can even get that kind of gear this early in the game. Especially your relic. Prior FF games took a year+ to get a relic. It took my best friend 6 years to get one in FFXI.... so yeah, complaining in this game will get you no sympathy from the devs.

I normally dont try to run too many CT for a certain drop. RNG sucks, just try to get a piece per week.

Sorry but i have to tell you its comletly random for anyone ive talked to yet. Bards cry that in "50 runs not one Bard drop" while the Healers cry (today i had to do 25 CT runs to get my healer drop". At the same time the tanks cry and the Monks too. Im am one of that mentioned Dragoons and had to do many (around 15) to see one single Dragoon item drop. For me its always Monk and Healer that drops. Monk in the first 2 chests and Healer & THM in the lasts.

You can see that everyone has his own sight here... If you count 1000 runs you will see its not that spread imo. Its the human brain that tricks one into thinking like this. We all are prey to this...

U peeps have to sacrifice ur fellow fc mates as a sacrificial offering to the RNG Gods!

RNG is fine but wish it's RNG from the jobs that's actually in the PT, at least give us that.

As for OP, I run CT as MNK and I hardly see MNK stuff, I see lots of healer and BRD stuff, so it's totally random imo.

Tanks , DD , caster , healer - everything drop was seen , tho i play CT 2 to 4 times in week only so i not so pissed off by this content yet ;)

I see tank, bard and monk drops most often.

healer and mage are rarest.

dragoon is in between.

Funny, because all I saw last week were healer and mage drops...

What I find (empirically, obviously, no way this would stand up to mathematical scrutiny) is that each person has a certain "luck," where they usually only see certain drops. Get a group of people together, and the person with the "strongest" luck determines the drops. For example, right after launch my buddy and I spent quite a while in Brayflox. I don't think he's ever seen any mage gear drop there, ever. Conversely, my runs without him feature a fair amount of mage and tank gear. Similarly, in all my Ifrit runs between 1.0 and ARR, I've never seen Ifrit Bow drop. In fact, I don't think I've ever seen *any* primal bow drop. Seems like primals drop everything but bow and claws for me (because those are the ones I'd want).

Second CT run of the week for me dropped 3 healer pieces and one caster piece. I needed one of the healer pieces.
Last week, second CT run of the week, got healer piece...
The week before, first CT run of the week, got healer piece...

RNG is RNG. You had bad luck. I even heard from a dragoon how he did 50+ runs without a single Onion piece dropping.

It's just luck.
I spended ages looking for my brd gear and just healer and tank would drop, from times to times caster.
Now I finally decided to look for caster and all that drops is drg and mnk ûu

I'd be more inclined to believe it were luck if not for the fact that I actually had a guy tell me how sad it was that I could predict the drops during a run with me. I wouldn't exactly call that luck, and when it's to the point that you can predict the drops I wouldn't call it random either. It literally feels like the drop system in ct is designed to give drops based on the party, items that drop being selected based on what class isn't in your party.

As far as going in not looking for a specific piece, since I'm the coil group 1 whm in my fc most of my myth gets spent on healer gear because my luck with coil drops is almost non existent. I play two classes, those being whm and blm and since I've had to dedicate all of my myth so far to my whm, ct is the only way I can farm better gear for my blm outside of hoping that the smn and blm in my coil group don't need the pieces that drop and noone else needs them for their secondaries. Sure, I could roll on the drg gear, but I'm not a drg and I'm not going to level one just because the devs want to play favorites.

Took me thirty runs for monk chest and had multiple runs with 3x tank and 3x bard gear. What's your point?

I find a lot of BLM gear whenever I go to CT, which I wouldn't mind if I didn't already have ilvl90 of everything except the belt and pants (ended up replacing the pants the same week I got them with Allagan pants...).

Now I'm gearing up my tank, I still see a lot of BLM gear, however I see a lot of Healer gear too. In fact, last CT run I did we had a healer drop from the first 3 bosses because they all got gear. First time I'd seen that happen.

Did like 12 CT this week about 40% MNK drops, 20% BRD, 20% Caster, 15% Healer, 5% DRG and not a single tank item dropped (although I only wanted pants for my WAR)

It drops what you don't need. It has a mechanism to do this.

So much gear is just trashed because nobody needs it.

I wonder if a shared Alliance loot pool would be better...

I did a run last week and a member said while we were still in the shield at start what each boss would drop by name and finished with "thank you for the commendations at the end". He was 100% correct on every drop and got my commendation.

Yea....RNG is RNG. Meanwhile they have already had a bug with coil drops, and a bug with dungeons being selected in low level roulette. But yea, nothing can possibly be wrong. RNG is RNG is the beginning and the end of the discussion with too many people. No one wants to admit when they see a problem.

Would you rather just run CT once a week and not get any gear at all? This could be a viable option too so that you don't have to run CT 20 times a week, but instead, once.

After previously playing MMOs that only allowed one run per week which usually didn't drop my class's specific item, I honestly like this system. Sure, I understand it gets frustrating, but it's even worse when you have to wait a week before getting another attempt at seeing what drops.

This annoys me too as I see an unusually large proportion of Dragoon and Monk gear drop. When you really think about it the caster dps, healing and tank gear should be the most common as they encompass two classes each with the other sets being less frequent. This is definitely not the case as my stats will show. (see next post)

Its pure randomness i believe

I run it for 20x times, and get all my warrior i80 gear, meanwhile very few i see any dragoon drop (just1-2 times).

But in other end, i see many caster and healer stuff. I have 1 run that all of them are caster stuff, and believe it or not. I did 3 run in a row, and on all 3 i see royal vest lol

Its pure luck dude, go meet with some shaman or something to increase your luck before going to CT

On my end also, have very bad luck in ultima. run it for 30 times already, never see choker of fending

In little over two weeks I have run CT 35 times in which I recorded the drops by class.
Monk - 28
Dragoon - 32
Healer - 22
Tank - 10
Caster DPS - 23
Bard - 22

Which is 137 of 140 drops - probably missed the other 3 due to sobriety issue...

As you can see there is no real balance in the RNG with the disparity between the single class use gear (ie Monk or Dragoon) compared to that of a dual use piece (ie Tank).

It's always dragoon gears, tank gears, and monk pant for me.

SO SICK OF THEM.

Problem solved: CT grants a token. 1-5 tokens required to get a gear piece from a vendor in Mor Dohna.

And done.

Random is Random until the loot table is bugged and it's not random then after they said they fixed it it's random again.

You want random? Place all available drops in randomly their own chest, then randomly put them in a random order and then you pick a chest

random x random x random = random

Sorry but I'm going to have to say it all depends on the luck of the draw.

I have never seen the monk body and have been going +100 times for boots and never once glanced at them. Even Bard boots don't exist for me.

But - I guess it's all just random. Sometimes I just settle for anything each week and are just happy to be done with it. lol

It is random. One person "only sees" MNK and DRG. Another "only sees" Tank and Healer. Someone else will only see BLM and BRD. It is random. We tend to only remember what we want to remember. I bet if people actually recorded all loot drops in CT (thousands of runs), the drops would probably look more even.

One thing to consider is simply that CT drops six types of gear. And three of those are job specific (BRD, MNK and DRG). So, on any given chest, right there that is a 50% chance to get one of those jobs.

And 35 runs is too small to draw any conclusions.

And if it is worth anything, I did 2500 synths for my luminary tool, each one with a 1% HQ chance. I wound up with 27 HQ items (expected would have been 25). On my second luminary tool, on a similar run, I got 22 HQ items. Pretty much evened out. More samples are needed to accuse the RNG of being off.

i'm at 4 week and i did see only 1 tank body and 1 pant, i had some run with 3/4 monk item and often i have 2/4 for one class, is not normal to have more than 1/4 for the same class, i'm amazed that they haven't put some limitation for avoid this.
i have heard of a group that had 4/4 monk ! it's insane!
