Unable to Complete Version Check??

I have been playing FF14 for a couple months. Its been working fine till now. I get a notice saying "unable to complete version check" when i try to open the launcher, which wont let me play the game at all. Does anyone know what im talking about? And if so, is there a way to fix this problem?

Okay this seems to be a Firewall problem. It's happened to me twice now. Last update and this one. What made mine work i opened Nortons security suite and it would run fine. Try opening all of your firewall involved Programs and turning off your fire wall Hope this helps :D

Last time I had this issue disabling my firewall did help. It isn't working this time. Game worked fine less than 12 hours ago now it won't even load the launcher just keeps giving the "unable to complete version check [30605] [10009] [19900] [12029].

I too haven't had any previous issues. The game launched for me yesterday, but today I'm getting this message in place of the launcher:

Unable to complete version check 30605 20448 10009 10019

I have done absolutely nothing at my end; no software updates/installs.

I've spent the past hour going through an older thread, http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/threads/71773, however nothing suggested there has helped (I didn't bother with completely deleting the game and reinstalling it, lol)

What's disappointing is this appears to be an ongoing issue yet when I went to "Square Enix Support", there was no mention of this issue or a suggested fix. TBH, I just don't get it.. this appears to be a serious issue affecting a lot of players. Why not address it?

Every thread I've checked into gets closed by a moderator saying "problem resolved" so there is no official fix. I've tried everything I can think of so far nothing works. Trying to start the launcher repeatedly now just for giggles.

I was on the game about 8 hours ago. Worked Perfectly fine. Woke up this morning and the exact same numbers as stated before. I changed absolutely nothing between when I was playing till now. I have tried the other things that people suggested. I even flushed out my dns. Absolutely nothing. I feel like the numbers mean something. I will point out that people with different strings of numbers have solved it all the same way based on that string. Here is to hoping we find a cure soon.

I have the issue where I can't complete version check. Worked fine 9 hours ago before bed. Woke up to: "Unable to complete version check. [30605][10009][19900][12029]

Ive tried ipconfig /release/renew, restarting comp, restarting router, turning off a/v and firewall, all to no avail.

I have AT&T as ISP provider

Same here! [30605] [20448] [10009] [10019] ever since i went to log in this morning. Wth? Was working fine about 9hrs ago. Hubby keeps saying i may have to reinstall and i really dont wanna have to do that over something like this. Please, a Dev needs to help out. I'm not even going to put in a ticket because i never get any kind of solution from that. My capability is already set to XP capability because that worked last time this happened but out of ideas now. S.E..... help! Please!

Same. Makes me start to wonder if It's AT&T.

I have ATT Uverse also
i fixed the issue by changing my Ip settings to manual and using googles dns servers.
i was also unable to get on reddit.com

At&T Uverse as well.

i have uverse as well and same problem worked fine last night, just woke up and "unable to complete version check"

SE please help is it a uverse problem if so what do we tell them?

How did you set google dns servers?

Same exact issue here. Was on no less than 8 hours ago. Woke up to this problem.
Windows 7, AT&T UVerse. Disabled all firewalls and virus scanning software.

Also cannot get onto reddit.

That is a crazy coincidence but i dont know how the internet provider would be at fault for us not being able to complete the version check. Seems like it'd be a file issue. Would be nice to get some kind of confirmation tho.

Hmm... The same situation here. Worked about 20 minutes before the maintenance and now it can't complete the version check. My provider is also ATT U-verse.

The error is as such:

Unable to complete version check.
[30605][20448][10009][10019]

It looks like someone has had success by changing their IP settings but is there anything else we can do?

Update: I can log in now. :) Well, not sure, just the launcher loaded without errors, I'm playing FFXI now, so I'll test FFXIV later.

Mine doesn't even say it is unable to complete a version check. Mine says System Error: 2146697211

GUYS! I have found the cure. Just go in and change the DNS to the Google ones.. Which use 8.8.8.8 with alt 8.8.4.4 and Welcome back to FF14. Worked like a charm! <3

im on the phone with uverse a recording said some customers maybe experiencing outages, but still on hold ill post what they say.

I have AT&T U-Verse I logged out 5mins ago or so wanted to log back in to put some stuff for sale that i forgot to do and couldn't log back in. In game everything was running smoothly (tho my hardware sucks) but connection wise i noticed no problems so definitely a peculiar issue involving our ISP. If I had to guess possibly a bad node somewhere.

So weird. i wonder if the problem was just people logging out. My husband has been playing all morning cuz he never logged out lol

I tried this and was able to log into the game just fine. Thanks for posting this, made it so I only had to hassle around for 5 minutes fixing this problem instead of hours scratching my head.

Doesn't seem as though this is an SE problem at all. Might be useful for a moderator to sticky the solution to this being to use a google dns until U Verse gets their act together.

I too have AT&T Uverse.

I'm on Windows 7. I went to:
Control Panel/ All Control Panel Items/ Network and Sharing Center.
Toward the top right underneath "View your active networks", look for Connections: Local Area Connection. Left-click and hit "diagnose" on the status window that comes up. I had a problem which it fixed.
This cleared up the issue for me; hope it works for you.

set your ip manually and set the dns servers to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4

It seems as though whatever the issue was it was resolved, I can now load the launcher without any trouble as can a few others that had previously posted in this thread.

yeah i was unable to get to reddit on my phone and now i can. AT&T ninja fixed it

My buddy who works there confirmed they were having network issues today. seems its cleared up now.
